Chelsea 2-1 Arsenal
This is all about game management from Chelsea now.
Nothing daft at the back (cc. Robert Sanchez), take the sting out of Arsenal's resurgence in the middle and maybe nick something on the counter.

There is a nervousness around the stadium now. I've mentioned it before, but Arsenal always finish strong, so let's see if they can finish strong enough today.
Chelsea 2-1 Arsenal
Not sure if these changes were already planned, but Mikel Arteta throws more attacking dice at this one.
Kai Havertz - how much on the ex-Chelsea man coming back to haunt his old club? - and Leandro Trossard replace Martin Odegaard and Gabriel Martinelli.

Today is a game of shoddy goalkeeping and fluke wonder goals!

All of a sudden Arsenal have a lifeline. The Chelsea keeper at fault there - but both keepers have been bad today. It was a great finish. He went for it first time and it worked.
Declan Rice (77 mins)
It's not over yet!
Another mistake from a keeper, another goal at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea keeper Robert Sanchez casually passes out from his six-yard box, missing his team-mate and only finding Declan Rice.
Howler? Maybe a bit strong but it's getting into that territory.
Scoring from there is not easy, but the Arsenal midfielder keeps his composure to stroke into the net from 25 yards.
Game on!

Back in west London, Chelsea are looking to manage the game sensibly and claim what would be a statement win.
The home fans are vocal and happy with how things are going.

The title race is wide open this season, believe me!
Joe
Arsenal fans celebrating like they won the league last week just shows how naive their fan base is. Oh dear, what a pity, nevermind.
Peter
Not even a shot on target for Arsenal. You can lose a game. But if you want to be a winning team, you can't follow up the Man City game with that stinker.

Chelsea 2-0 Arsenal
The problem for Arsenal as they chase the game is the real threat of being picked off on the counter.
Raheem Sterling and Nicolas Jackson almost get in each other's way as the ball comes into the Arsenal box, moments before Cole Palmer drags a shot wide.
Just under 20 minutes of normal time left.
Chelsea 2-0 Arsenal
Now is the time for Mikel Arteta to make some changes which he hopes will turn this match around.
Gabriel Jesus, who has only had 27 touches and none of great significance, and Jorginho go off, replaced by Eddie Nketiah and Emile Smith Rowe.
Chelsea 2-0 Arsenal
This would have been an incredible introduction... Nicolas Jackson is put clear after Chelsea clear a corner and counter.
The Blues sub tries to round David Raya, but the Arsenal keeper does well to stand up and claim the ball with impeccable timing.
Chelsea 2-0 Arsenal
Changes are incoming - but not from the Arsenal bench.
Instead it is Mauricio Pochettino who is being proactive as he looks to preserve this lead and claim three vital points.
Goalscorer Mykhailo Mudryk is the man who is coming off, receiving a rapturous ovation as Nicolas Jackson comes on in his place.

Arsenal really need to put Ramsdale back in goal. Send Raya back.

Chelsea 2-0 Arsenal
Gabriel Jesus winces as he climbs to his feet and tries to jog off the issue which is bothering him.
Arsenal's issue is they haven't looked like scoring. Not a single shot on target yet.
Chelsea 2-0 Arsenal
A pause in play as Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus receives treatment after a collision with Chelsea keeper Robert Sanchez.
The television cameras pan to Arsenal keeper David Raya, which tells you exactly what is one of the game's main talking points.

Arsenal haven't fancied this one at all. How on earth did they beat City?
Steve, Hastings
Arsenal beat city then losing to Chelsea after bottling the league last season .... what a time to be alive!

Penny for Aaron Ramsdale's thoughts. Sure he will be watching, hopefully back home with his newly-arrived son tucked under his wing.
