Crystal Palace 0-1 Tottenham
Two more Tottenham changes.
On comes Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg for Yves Bissouma, with Brennan Johnson replacing Richarlison.
Presumably, Johnson's pace is something Spurs will look to on the break as Palace are forced to come out.
Crystal Palace 0-1 Tottenham
There's no rush for Spurs now. Cristian Romero and Guglielmo Vicario share about 300 passes between them as the Palace crowd gets increasingly angry at how passive their side are being.

If we've got a clear lead come January 31st, can we buy Harry Kane back to win the league with us please?!

Crystal Palace 0-1 Tottenham
Palace have now scored three own goals in the Premier League in 2023 (Andersen with two and Ward tonight), with only Brighton (4) putting through their own goal more times in the competition this year.
Crystal Palace 0-1 Tottenham
It's only the Spurs fans singing now.
They're having a whale of a time this season.
Crystal Palace 0-1 Tottenham
Spurs are this, Spurs are that, Spurs haven’t got this, Spurs haven’t got that….but Spurs are top!!

Chance!
Marc Guehi has a free header from the corner but he gets his angles wrong and glances the effort wide.
Crystal Palace 0-1 Tottenham
Palace look to hit back but Odsonne Edouard's shot from the edge of the box is sent spinning over the bar by a Tottenham boot.
Crystal Palace 0-1 Tottenham
So, as it stands Tottenham are going five points clear at the top of the Premier League.

Jamie Carragher
Former Liverpool defender on Sky Sports
He won't care if it's an own goal or not.
The impact he has had in terms of goals and assists has been superb. It seems like he is just at the heart of everything, James Maddison, since he's joined the club.
But I think Joel Ward has to do better.

Alex Howell
Football reporter at Selhurst Park
That goal has come after some sloppy play in the Palace defence. They couldn't clear and Maddison's shot is turned in by Joel Ward.
Joel Ward own goal
Of course, an own goal!
Tottenham strike first as they get in down the right and set up James Maddison to lash over a ball that Joel Ward diverts into his own goal.
Everything is coming up Spurs at the moment!
Crystal Palace 0-0 Tottenham
Oh, Palace are almost in!
Jeffrey Schlupp sneaks his way in down the left and drives over a low ball that is halted in the middle and invites a goalscoring touch before Spurs get it clear.

Tottenham’s performances this season are not representative of their points haul and they look poor against a depleted Palace team who are not giving anything away. The Eagles look more threatening so could nick this 1-0!
Matt
Crystal Palace 0-0 Tottenham
Tottenham force their first corner through good work from Dejan Kulusevski. They take it short, allow Will Hughes to nip in and win the ball and a throw. Complete waste.

Spurs seem to lack versatility and Palace have worked out how to contain them.
Greg
Crystal Palace 0-0 Tottenham
Tottenham on the front foot early in this second half but Pedro Porro's cross from the right loops up off a Palace man and is an easy catch for Sam Johnstone.
