Kion Etete and Rubin Colwill are on for Ike Ugbo and Yakou Meite, who didn't have many chances to show what they can do today.

Bulut will be delighted if Cardiff get a point here, or more, the way the game has panned out.

It's not an easy one. Ollie Tanner created it with his pace and it was a good early ball into the box.

Ike Ugbo received the ball with his back to goal and had to turn and hit it quickly, and because of that he couldn't control it.

Best chance for Cardiff so far!

Sub Ollie Tanner is involved, sending the ball into the box where Ike Ugbo's first touch takes it away from his man but he can only fire over the bar.

A reminder that Cardiff are still in this.

And a yellow for Mason Burstow, the young forward on loan from Chelsea.

He brought down Ryan Wintle.

That comes just before Niall Huggins shoots wide for the hosts as they continue to press.

As Sunderland get into the final third they quicken the passing very intelligently and they forced another good save from Jak Alnwick in the Cardiff goal.

It's all hands to the pump for Cardiff but how much longer can they hold out?

We mentioned Karlan Grant was struggling with an injury before the break and he has had to depart the action.

Ollie Tanner is on in his place.

Tanner made the difference in the south Wales derby last Saturday - he came off the bench to score the opener as Cardiff beat Swansea 2-0.

It all started in the dim and distant past of Friday evening with Birmingham City's goalless draw with QPR but this round of Championship action is spread across four days so there is still more to come.

Monday's fixture sees Coventry City host Huddersfield Town (20:00 BST) with the Terriers having new manager Darren Moore in charge for the first time after he replaced the one and only Neil Warnock, who stepped down in midweek.

Warnock saved the club from relegation last season and won two and drew one of his final three games in charge.

Cardiff haven't had a shot on target. Being without Aaron Ramsey is a massive hole to fill.

The distances between the three forward players is too far.

I think they will be relieved to get into half-time at 0-0 because Sunderland have been the better side. It's been a good game - I've enjoyed it.

I'm sure Tony Mowbray will tell the Sunderland players to keep doing what they're doing, up the tempo just a little bit and they will win the game.
