Hull don't want to give Stoke any sniff before half-time.

It's been a scrappy game but two brilliant minutes of football has opened it up. Hull need to calm it down again now.

  2. YELLOW CARD Ben Wilmot (Stoke)published at 42 mins

One each in cautions now as Ben Wilmot goes into the book for a foul on Aaron Connolly.

  4. YELLOW CARD Alfie Jones (Hull)published at 38 mins

    Stoke 0-2 Hull

Alfie Jones is shown the first yellow card of the game for a foul on new man Wesley and that gives Stoke a decent position for a free-kick.

Andre Vidigal hits the target but it's not troubling Ryan Allsop.

Alex Neil reacts to those two quick goals by making a second substitution of the game.

Wouter Burger is the man heading off and former Aston Villa striker Wesley is on.

Can he help the Potters back into this?

They look a bit shellshocked at present.

It's a pure lack of communication. They are two poor goals for Stoke to give away which gives them a massive hill to climb.

GOAL: Stoke 0-2 Hullpublished at 12:35 British Summer Time 24 September 2023

    Adama Traore (32 mins)

Make that 2-0 out of nowhere!

Ryan Allsop sends a deep, searching pass into space which Aaron Connolly races onto and drives into the box to take a shot.

The ball is blocked but falls nicely to Adama Traore who reacts brilliantly to spin and fire it past Mark Travers.

Wow - we barely saw any goalmouth action at all and suddenly it's 2-0 to Hull!

    Any more coming??

    Aaron Connolly (30 mins)

    There it is!

Jaden Philogene outmuscles Ben Wilmot down the right and squares it for Aaron Connolly who kind of scuffs it in but it goes through the legs of Michael Rose and into the net.

    1-0 out of nowhere!

    Stoke 0-0 Hull

You have to say there is not an awful lot going on out there in terms of attacking play.

A bit of quick-thinking from Andre Vidigal sends Sead Haksabanovic in on goal.

He opts to square it to Wouter Burger but it's behind him and they have to recylce.

Burger then claims for a penalty as the ball strikes a defender's arm as he sends it into the box - but nothing doing from the ref.

Hull have created nothing yet. I would like to see the wide men get on the ball as they have ability to go past players.

This game is lacking quality in all areas. Neither team has looked comfortable on the ball and neither team has been able to open the other up. It's not the best of games.

  11. CLOSE!published at 21 mins

    Stoke 0-0 Hull

    The closest we've come!

Daniel Johnson flashes a left-footed shot wide of the post, across Ryan Allsop's goal.

It was a decent little move to create the opening but Johnson didn't quite catch it.

  12. Postpublished at 20 mins

    Stoke 0-0 Hull

Half a chance for Hull as Stoke defender Michael Rose miskicks a clearance and it drops behind him in the box.

But fortunately it doesn't fall to a Tigers shirt and the ball is cleared.

Jaden Philogene is then in down the right but his ball into the box is dealt with by the Potters' defence.

Still waiting for a big chance it's fair to say!

Applause goes around the ground in memory of 14-year-old Rafe Lawton.

Rafe, from Talke, in Staffordshire, died in July after he was diagnosed with Stevens-Johnson syndrome - a rare skin disorder.

His father Chris Lawton said he was a huge Stoke City fan and a "tremendously talented" boy.

    Rest in peace Rafe.

It's great to see Andre Vidigal back but it's a shame it's at the expense of Tyrese Campbell.

Once you feel your hamstring then it's very difficult to stretch it out.

    Stoke 0-0 Hull

Stoke's Tyrese Campbell goes off injuredImage source, PA Media

    It is being made now.

Tyrese Campbell is off with what looks like a hamstring injury - there's no running that off.

Andre Vidigal is a good replacement though.

He has four goals this season, three in the Championship, and is Stoke's top scorer.

He certainly caught the eye early in the season before picking up an injury of his own.

  16. Postpublished at 11 mins

    Stoke 0-0 Hull

Tyrese Campbell is getting a fair bit of treatment and the signs aren't good.

Andre Vidigal has been called for although the change hasn't been made just yet.

    Stoke 0-0 Hull

Bit of an early injury worry for Stoke as striker Tyrese Campbell clutches his hamstring after chasing a ball towards goal.

One to keep an eye on.

More corners for Stoke but once again the Tigers defence holds firm.

  18. Postpublished at 6 mins

    Stoke 0-0 Hull

Daniel Johnson whips in a couple of short corners - but not sure that was the plan as Stoke's waiting players are nowhere near it and Hull can clear easily.

Better from Stoke now though as the crowd try to give their side a lift.

  19. Postpublished at 4 mins

    Stoke 0-0 Hull

Hull are knocking it around nicely early on as Stoke try to press them into errors near their own goal.

There are a couple of half-chances to catch the Hull defence out but Jacob Greaves and Ryan Allsop keep their heads.

    No early openings as yet.

Liam Rosenior is doing something right at Hull. He said when he came in that performances were more important than results and if their performances were consistent then the results would come.

Hull have a chance of going fourth today if they win.
