Hull are winless in their past 11 league visits to Stoke (D4, L7) since they won 3-0 in 2005-06 under manager Peter Taylor.

But they will be quietly confident that they can break that run against the Potters today.

A goalless draw against Leeds in midweek saw the Tigers stretch their unbeaten run to six games in a run that has seen them rise to seventh in the table.

Win today and they would move up to fourth. They will be looking to Aaron Connolly and Turkey international Ozan Tufan for goals with the duo both having four this season.

Although Tufan will have to come off the bench to get on target today as he is named among the substitutes.

  6. Tough task for Potters against confident Tigerspublished at 11:48 British Summer Time 24 September 2023

Stoke have not won in their past four Championship games and face a tough task to get three points on the board today against a confident Hull side unbeaten in six.

The Potters last tasted success in the league over a month ago with summer signing Andre Vidigal scoring the only goal in a 1-0 victory over Watford on 19 August.

During that run they did enjoy a resounding 6-1 win over Rotherham in the EFL Cup, with the Millers being a favourite opponent this season as Stoke also beat them 4-1 in the league on the opening day.

History is on their side in this particular fixture, with Stoke having won eight of their past 11 league games against Hull (D1 L2), including four of their last five.

However, since Alex Neil’s first home league game in charge of Stoke City in August 2022, only QPR (13) have lost more home Championship games than the Potters (12).
