One wish has already been granted...

We asked who would make your deadline day wish list.

Here are some of your thoughts:

Mark: Chelsea need to sign Joao Felix. He scored four goals in just a few months in a poorly managed Chelsea team at the end of last season. He would thrive in this new exiting team under Poch.

Xavier: We should sign Eze, hijack loan deal for Astu Fati, or perhaps Brennan Johnson. We need a winger for squad depth.

Edward: To get a creative midfielder who can provide chances to Jackson and Sterling. Cole Palmer or Emile Smith Rowe from our rivals I would just love.

David: We want to buy someone who has got Champions League-winning mentality. We don't want any more under 22-year-olds, we could do with Kimmich or Goretzka from Bayern Munich, Ivan Toney up front and someone like Bremer from Juventus will be good for us! We need experience!

  2. No offer for Salah - Klopppublished at 09:56 British Summer Time 1 September 2023

Liverpool v Aston Villa (Sun, 14:00 BST)

    Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp said Liverpool have received no offer for forward Mohamed Salah, as far as he was aware...

When asked if there had been any change, he said: "The position remains the same. Absolutely no doubt about that. That's how it is. Nothing else to say."

He was asked again if any offer had come in from a Saudi side for Salah?

"Not as far as I know but that doesn't mean a lot to be honest," replied Klopp.

Championship side Leeds United have signed midfielders Glen Kamara and Ilia Gruev for undisclosed fees.

Finland international Kamara, 27, has penned a four-year deal at Elland Road to become the club's eighth addition of the summer and joins from Rangers.

Bulgaria international Gruev, 23, has joined from Werder Bremen, where he had one goal in 62 games at senior level. He has eight caps for his national team, the last of which came in June's European Championship qualifiers.

Kamara won the Scottish Cup and reached the Europa League final with Rangers - he started his career at Arsenal, playing for Southend and Colchester on loan, before moves to Dundee and then Ibrox.

The Whites have already signed Ethan Ampadu, Sam Byram, Karl Darlow, Joel Piroe, Joe Rodon and Djed Spence since their relegation from the Premier League last season.

There were suggestions Inter Milan were interested in Dutch midfielder Donny van de Beek, who is surplus to requirements at Manchester United.

However, Inter had also been talking to Van de Beek's fellow Dutchman Davy Klaasen, and he has now arrived in Milan for his medical.

I have been told Inter only wanted one of the two, which would appear to close that door on Van de Beek.

    Liverpool

We asked who would make your deadline day wish list.

Here are some of your thoughts:

Adli: To bring in another defensive midfielder and a centre-back who can play right-back ideally - and still have some transfer budget for the January transfer window.

Barry: Doucoure from Palace, but I fear £70m is too much for FSG at this late stage. He, for me, has everything Liverpool need in a defensive midfielder, with Premier League experience and Palace's best player last season.

KP: Salah leaving would have more of an impact on our season than failure to bring in another central defensive midfielder. I guess in an ideal world Khephren Thuram would be nice, but focus needs to be on keeping Salah. If we have to free up wages by holding back on signings so be it.

Joe: A good defensive midfielder and Mbappe if Salah is allowed to leave.

Vardon: Unfortunately, our dream transfers have all ended up elsewhere in Gvardiol, Bellingham and Camavinga and bids for Barella and Palhinha seem unlikely, although they would be top of my list. Gravenberch? He will need to develop quickly to adapt to the Premier League. A left-sided centre-back? A cheeky bid for Gabriel or Ndicka. I doubt we'll get them.

Roger: We desperately need a good, solid right-back to allow Trent Alexander-Arnold to play in midfield and a strong defensive midfielder who can link attack and defence while breaking up opponents' attacks. This has been obvious for some time but, sadly, we seem as far away from it as we were in May.

    Liverpool

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, speaking in his pre-match news conference before Sunday's visit of Aston Villa, was giving nothing away on planned transfer activity.

He was asked whether Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch was undergoing a medical at the club and how that was going: "We cannot talk about that because nothing has really happened yet."

Next question, will Liverpool be looking to strengthen further, or could Gravenberch be the final new arrival of this transfer window?

Klopp's response was similarly non-committal: "It's deadline day, I don't want to kill the excitement of the people. You never know. But I am busy today with other things."

  9. Forest's Mbe Soh goes on loan to Almere Citypublished at 09:45 British Summer Time 1 September 2023

    Nottingham Forest

An outgoing at Nottingham Forest as defender Loic Mbe Soh has joined Dutch side Almere City on loan for the rest of the season.

The 22-year-old joined Forest from Paris Saint-Germain in September 2020 and made only 13 appearances for the club.

The defender spent the second half of last season back in France on loan at Guingamp, and now moves to the Netherlands.

  11. Fulham trying to buy Iwobi from Evertonpublished at 09:41 British Summer Time 1 September 2023

    Phil McNulty
    BBC Sport chief football writer

Fulham are continuing to hold talks with Everton in an attempt to secure a deadline day deal for midfield man Alex Iwobi.

Manager Marco Silva is a big admirer of the 27-year-old, who he brought to Everton in a £34m deal during his time at Goodison Park - also on deadline day - in August 2019.

Iwboi has one year left on his current contract with no indications he will agree an extension so Everton may well cash in now as they work within a limited budget and try to put together last day deals.

One stumbling block may be the fee, with Everton understood to want between £15m and £20m for Iwobi, who currently faces a spell on the sidelines with a hamstring injury sustained in the 4-0 defeat at Aston Villa but discussions are ongoing.

    BBC Football Daily

The Telegraph's Luke Edwards speaking on Transfer Gossip Daily: "The whole Saudi thing is just getting ridiculous now. I think Jurgen Klopp went on the record last week saying they haven't even had a bid for Mohamed Salah.

"This has been doing the rounds now for two weeks. £150m is what's rumoured. If they do make this bid then I do think Liverpool will have to seriously consider it. I wouldn't be surprised if Mo Salah ended up in the Saudi Pro League next year. They will continue to be aggressive and bold."

  13. Liverpool close in on Gravenberchpublished at 09:36 British Summer Time 1 September 2023

    Mandeep Sanghera
    BBC Sport

Liverpool's midfield refresh is set to continue with the signing of Netherlands international Ryan Gravenberch from Bayern Munich.

The Reds agreed a fee of £34.3m (40m euros) for the 21-year-old and will aim to conclude the deal today.

Gravenberch has left Bayern having only signed for the club from Ajax last summer for an initial 18.5m euros.

He will join fellow midfielders Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai and Wataru Endo in being signed by Liverpool this summer if and when the move is completed.

The Anfield side have been conducting a rebuild of the midfield with the departures James Milner, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on free transfers being followed by Jordan Henderson and Fabinho leaving the club to go to Saudi Arabian clubs.

    Tottenham Hotspur

    Your viewsImage source, .

We asked who would make your deadline day wish list.

Here are some of your thoughts:

Joshua: The only thing that Spurs need to do is sign a striker as Richarlison will not get you 30 goals a season like Kane could.

Patrick: Ideally, a half-decent striker who can pop a goal in here and there, like Vlahovic. It's unfortunate that Juventus are so against the transfer as it would be of real benefit both teams.

Luca: Simple. In comes Brennan Johnson, out goes Sanchez, Hojbjerg, Ndombele, Dier, Lo Celso and Tanganga.

Brian: Would like to see them go for Gift Orban as opposed to Johnson. A dynamic player with the attacking and goalscoring ability we need.

Mark: I think that Eze would be good. But realistically, we need a new striker to either be a Richarlison back-up or a replacement.

  15. 'The project here sounds good'published at 09:31 British Summer Time 1 September 2023

    Chelsea

Cole Palmer joined Manchester City’s academy at under-eight level and moved through the youth ranks at the club. He captained City’s Under-18s during the 2019-20 season and helped the side win the FA Youth Cup, scoring in the final against Chelsea.

Last season, the 21-year-old established himself as a regular in the City first-team squad. He made 25 appearances across all competitions and ended the campaign as a Premier League, Champions League, and FA Cup winner.

Palmer then went on to celebrate international success as, alongside new team-mates Levi Colwill and Noni Madueke, he lifted the European Under-21 Championship with England this summer.

Palmer has made an impressive start to the current campaign – he scored in both the Community Shield and Uefa Super Cup – but will now continue his career at Stamford Bridge.

"I’m excited to get started and it feels great to sign," said Palmer.

"I’ve joined Chelsea because the project here sounds good and because of the platform I will have to try to showcase my talents. It is a young and hungry squad and, hopefully, we can do something special here."

The Athletic's David Ornstein, speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live on potential Manchester United transfers: "Sergio Reguilon from Tottenham on loan and that's one I expect to be announced at some point this morning.

"They are still working to bring in Sofyan Amrabat a star of the World Cup with Morocco, from Fiorentina again on a loan deal."

  19. Tresor set for Burnley medicalpublished at 09:25 British Summer Time 1 September 2023

    Shamoon Hafez
    BBC Sport

Burnley are in talks to sign Belgium international Mike Tresor on loan from Genk.

Tresor, 24, was named the Jupiler Pro League player of the year after scoring eight goals and providing 21 assists in 34 games last season.

Tresor, who has won two caps for the national team, will have a medical with Vincent Kompany’s side today.

He would become the club’s 15th new signing since returning to the Premier League.

Burnley would reportedly have an obligation to buy the player for £15.4m at the end of the season.

Ryan Gravenberch to Liverpool is the one I want finalised today, as that would represent a good window for Liverpool, despite all the outgoings! A back-up right back might also be good, maybe a centre-back if not.
