On Sofyan Amrabat possibly joining Manchester United

He is a good player with a lot of quality, I liked watching him play in the World Cup. He influenced football matches.

He doesn't mind taking the ball anywhere around the pitch, he seems very comfortable.

I believe he will get goals as well as assists, Manchester United have not got anything like him.

  3. Felix extends Atletico deal... then joins Barca on loanpublished at 21:27 British Summer Time 1 September 2023

Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix has joined Barcelona on loan for the season.

But the 23-year-old Portugal international has also extended his contract with Atletico for two years, until 2029.

The notable lack of deals since 18.00 .....

How are Forest making all these signings, and yet us (Liverpool) can hardly do any business when it is so clear we need players? Other than VVD our centre back are poor, Andy Robertson has lost a step, and Trent should be playing in midfield. Sell Salah so we can start signing like Forest!

A sweet deal made for Johnson with some quality bought in and change to spare. Feels like Forest have won the closing transfer window.

“It has been the wish of my family and myself to return to PSV," he said.

"We fondly remembered our first spell in Eindhoven. It was very special and now I’m really looking forward to playing a big part for PSV this campaign and making my stay even more successful than the first period.”

On rumours that Newcastle are interested in Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris

I'm a big fan of Hugo Lloris, I know he hasn't had a great time at Spurs over the last couple of seasons. He's made high profile mistakes, been injured as well. I think he is still a very good goalkeeper. It's an interesting one with him going to Newcastle with Nick Pope.

I just don't know where that's going to work. Is he going to replace Nick Pope? No, I don't think so. I'd be surprised for that reason alone.

My club (Southend United) have nearly been wound up several times recently over a few hundred grand tax bills. Admittedly this isn’t Chelsea’s fault but 400 million in a transfer window on players…1/400th of that would make a huge difference to teams down here. Poor Poch, tough times indeed.

PSG have agreed a deal with Eintracht Frankfurt to sign France striker Randal Kolo Muani for £64.2m plus £12.8m in add-ons.

Kolo Muani, 24, has been one of the most sought after young players this summer, with Manchester United one of the clubs linked.

Barcelona have agreed loan deals for Joao Felix and Joao Cancelo.

Neither agreement includes an option to buy and will run for the remainder of the season.

Cancelo has been a target for most of the summer given he has no future at Manchester City.

Felix had an unsuccessful spell at Chelsea in the second half of last season and then said he had no wish to return to Atletico Madrid.

Barcelona’s financial issues meant they have had to wait to sign both players but Ansu Fati’s move to Brighton helped smooth the transfers through.

John: Sell Salah!!! If Liverpool are offered 200m…TAKE IT! Liverpool are rebuilding to an extent. Prob not at City’s level for a year or two. Salah will not be the player he is now in a couple of years. I think it’s silly to turn down.

LBoro: Would love to see Man Utd put a last minute swap deal together McTominay for Palhinha

Tom: Hudson-Odoi to Forest for £5m could be the buy of the day. What a signing! Hopefully whatever ruinous nonsense was done behind the scenes at Chelsea can be put behind him. If he gets back to his best, he'll be a joy to watch.

I think it is a big loss because of what he's done, the way he came into the team, how he has created, been dynamic, goals and assists.

When they went up to the Premier League you thought he was going to go, but he will have great guidance with from his dad and they're massive Forest fans so it's sad for him to go, but you understand at times if it is a club like Spurs then you sometimes have to move on. I left Sheffield United and went to Spurs and it's a wonderful club, so I think it will be a great move for him.

What I would be saying to him is yes Spurs is a big club, but I would be wanting assurances from that manager that I am going to be playing as much as possible, where I'm going to play and what positions before I sign that deal.

Could he handle it if he doesn't play every week like he does at Forest? The key is to be patient, to understand that it is the next level, it is a step-up and believe in your abilities. Stay as sharp as you possibly can and don't get frustrated and wait for your chance.

I think for Spurs he'll bring flair, pace, that desire, he's got that quality on the wings and can play in behind. I think the way the manager wants to play at Spurs he'll see that as real positive.

Brennan Johnson is going to be a miss [for Nottingham Forest].

Possibly not straight into the [Tottenham] starting line-up, but he will play a big part of the team.

He has got to come up to speed of how Ange Postecoglou wants to play, the way Postecoglou wants to operate - Brennan is going to have to get used to it.

I think eventually he will be as a main player.

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport

Conor Gallagher will remain at Chelsea after Tottenham’s interest failed to turn into a permanent deal.

The England international was targeted by Spurs to bolster their midfield.

However, it needed them to sell players, including Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

That did not materialise and as Gallagher had always made it clear he was happy to stay at Stamford Bridge, that is what will happen.
