There's been no mention of whether Salah actually wants to go to Saudi Arabia. People might point to the money on offer and say why wouldn't he go, but is he going to effectively retire at 31? I wasn't surprised when Neymar went but I'm not sure about Salah.

    Richard, Ireland

Skully: Tbf losing Salah and getting no one in won't affect our goals this year: top 5 and win the Europa. Not gonna do any better than that with him anyway

Phil: £150m for Salah wouldn't mean Liverpool all of a sudden have that money to spend on various others. Every selling club will instantly add £20m to an asking price, because they know Liverpool will have "the Salah money". They'd get stung with whoever they brought in.

Hopefully they don't do that tonight with Wilfried Gnonto...

According to several reports a deal to take Manchester United left-back Alvaro Fernandez on loan to La Liga side Granada is currently in the process of being finalised.

Earlier on Friday, United completed the season-long loan signing of Sergio Reguilon from Tottenham, which has essentially given 20-year-old Fernandez the green light to depart on a similar type of arrangement.

Meanwhile, fellow United youngster Charlie McNeill has joined League One side Stevenage.

The 19-year-old forward spent the second half of last season on loan at Newport County.

James: You can't help but think that a lot of clubs are missing out on not signing someone like Eric Dier on loan as he seems to be available. An experienced player that is versatile and probably just needs a new challenge. He would be good at Liverpool.

D: Not a great deadline day. Feels like Chelsea have already signed every single available player.
