  1. Martindale looking for a Celtic hat-trickpublished at 12:28 British Summer Time 23 September 2023

    Livingston v Celtic (12:30)

In their entire history, Livingston have beaten Celtic only twice.

David Martindale was involved in both - as assistant to Gary Holt in a 2-0 win in 2019 and as manager in his own right in 2021, when Andrew Shinnie's goal was the difference between the sides.

What chance he makes it a hat-trick today?

Thumbs up below if you think he will. Thumbs down if you think he won't.

  2. Livi's leaks a worry for home sidepublished at 12:26 British Summer Time 23 September 2023

    Livingston v Celtic (12:30)

Since a 0-0 draw with Aberdeen on the opening day, Livingston have failed to keep a clean sheet in the Premiership, conceding eight goals in four matches.

In fact, they have only kept two clean sheets in their last 21 top-flight matches, conceding 38 goals during this period.

Not the kind of record you want as you face the country's best team - and best strike force.

Even though he was the Celtic manager for two and a half years in his first spell in charge, Brendan Rodgers has only managed once at the Tony Macaroni. A 0-0 draw in November 2018.

  4. Martindale forced to change formationpublished at 12:20 British Summer Time 23 September 2023

    Livingston v Celtic (12:30)

David Martindale is looking for his second win over Celtic as Livingston manager and has been talking about Mikey Devlin's absence and the return of Scott Pittman.

"There is probably going to be a change to formation, but we are pretty flexible," he tells BBC Scotland. "I've walked through two or three different shapes.

"Mick's out and is a huge loss. I have four players who can play centre-back not ready to start today, but Mo Sangare has played left centre-back down at Accrington so it is something that I can adapt to.

"Wee Pitt's was left out of the squad last week, but to be honest, whoever is on the park, I know what I'm going to get and I'm trying to use my squad to the best of my ability.

"I am under new illusions of how hard it is going to be."

  5. 'Forrest better suited to Rodgers' team'published at 12:17 British Summer Time 23 September 2023

I am surprised that Brendan Rodgers hasn't made more changes, but they have to mentally right on this pitch. I have always said that James Forrest possibly better suits the way Rodgers' plays than the way under Ange Postecoglou and he is a quality player.

  7. Game of contrastspublished at 12:09 British Summer Time 23 September 2023

    Livingston v Celtic (12:30)

Celtic, with four wins from five, have the opportunity to stretch their lead at the top of the table to five points over St Mirren while Livingston are in sixth after just one victory.

But that is not the only gulf between the sides in match-up of contrasts.

Celtic have completed more passes, completed more passes in the opposition half and averaged more possession per game (68.4%) than any other team in the Premiership this season.

Meanwhile, Livingston have completed the fewest passes in the league.

  8. McAllister for Caledonian Stadium?published at 12:06 British Summer Time 23 September 2023

There's also an update on the future of Billy Gilmour's wee brother and some Rangers youngsters.

You can read those and more in today's Scottish Gossip.

    Livingston v Celtic (12:30)

Brendan Rodgers makes just one alteration to the Celtic team that lost to Feyenoord in the Champions League group stage on Tuesday.

But it's a significant one, with long-serving James Forrest starting in place of summer signing Luis Palma, who drops to the bench.

It's the 32-year-old Scotland winger's first action since the last of three substitute appearances this season - against St Johnstone in August.

And a first start since a 2-2 draw away to Rangers in January.
