Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has praised Cristian Romero's role in a string of impressive performances by Spurs' new-look defence.
Spurs have kept four clean sheets in their first 10 Premier League matches this season, and Argentina centre-back Romero is one of the six nominees for the Premier League's player of the month award for October.
Romero has formed a solid centre-back partnership with summer signing Micky van de Ven, with that pairing regularly starting alongside full-backs Pedro Porro and Destiny Udogie and in front of another summer addition - goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario.
Postecoglou said: "The way our defensive side of the game has come together... the one constant and the rock in that [much-changed defensive unit] has been Romero, with the way he's taken on that responsibility of guiding those other guys around him so that they look assured.
"I think they feel security having him beside them, he's a big part of why we've done so well defensively.
"And there's more to come from him. He wants to improve and he works hard every day. He's a winner - you can see that in him with the way he trains and the way he plays, and that helps from a cultural perspective as well."

What changes it is when you are spending so much money. I think Chelsea are in unchartered territory where no one else has spent that much money.
There is half a team there where you think in a few years you could be saying Chelsea are on the brink of their second title in three years, with a Caicedo and Fernandez midfield.
But it does seem to be quantity as much as quality.

Yes [the Spurs fans love Pochettino] but I have also heard the fans who are unhappy he went to Chelsea.
But it is his fault because he has been seducing the fans. Making them fall in love with him and then when he goes he breaks their hearts. It's all so emotional with Pochettino.

He has hit the ground running at Tottenham.
Yes, he has had a relatively easy start but he has still got to win the games. I was at Luton yesterday and Liverpool couldn't beat them.
He will use the players he wants, he will continue playing the way that he will and he will not sway from it.

I do think Spurs have benefitted from a relatively easy start but the momentum you build up over that time is [important].
The slightly tougher run of fixtures will be a test but the confidence they will have, you wouldn't bet against them being able to stay the course longer than anyone thought they could.

Still no 'recognised' pundits saying Spurs are realistic title contenders. If they win tonight will that change?

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino speaking to Sky Sports: "Maddison is doing really well, he's had a great impact for Tottenham. It's a challenge for us, we're still evolving and we need time because the team is young.
"The key today is to stop Maddison because we need to dominate the midfield area. They are strong with Bissouma and Sarr, they recover the ball as soon as possible.
"We need to control it with Enzo, Gallagher and Moises."

He has got the real buy-in from players and he has a group of players doing what he wants to do and playing the way he wants to play.
Son and Maddison, if they get injured, are tough to replace. But they are in a far better place and look a lot healthier than last season, that's for sure.

As a Chelsea fan I’m starting to have the feeling of when Torres was continuously picked, but now it’s Jackson.

I saw Ange Postecoglou at the theatre the other night. I say saw, I came across the above picture on the photo wires.
He went to see William Shakespeare's King Lear, which was directed and played by Kenneth Branagh.
"Sir Kenneth is a big Spurs fan and was kind enough to invite my wife and I to the theatre the other night," Postecoglou said.
"We enjoyed it. I did have to swot up on King Lear. It wasn't part of the curriculum at Prahran High!
"You always learn from life and the appreciation of seeing people excel at what they do is inspiring. You walk out of there thinking, 'I don't know how they do it'.
"Sir Kenneth was good after it. I caught up with him briefly, he was very kind with his time. He was all over how it's going and gave me some little bits of advice, which I'll ignore like he'll ignore my advice on acting, mate! It was good. It was much appreciated."

Maurichio Pochettino knows what works in the Premier League. He just needs to find the right balance in the squad, the right players - including a striker perhaps - and generally get everyone working with his methodology.
After some false starts within Chelsea the decision makers have realised time is required. This comes off the back off a chat with Frank Lampard, who said the winning culture there has gone, so you have to rebuild it.
Pochettino has done that at Spurs and succeeded and I am pretty sure it will happen at Chelsea, it just won't happen in 12 games.

With three goals in all competitions at the end of October, Nicolas Jackson is Chelsea's second-top scorer this season. But do Mauricio Pochettino's side need more from the Senegalese striker, and is he capable of delivering?
The Standard's football correspondent Nizaar Kinsella tells The Football News Show why Jackson's lack of goals should not come as a surprise but why eye-catching moments could hint there is more to come.

Reece James being fit enough to start this game is a massive boost for Chelsea.
The England right-back played in the Carabao Cup win over Blackburn last week and manager Mauricio Pochettino said that even though the 'temptation' is to play him for 90 minutes that the club need to be 'careful' with his fitness.

It is a pretty dismal run of form Chelsea are on. They have won only eight of their past 39 league fixtures, beating Bournemouth (twice), Crystal Palace, Leeds United, Leicester City, Luton Town, Fulham and Burnley.
They have won just four matches since Graham Potter left in April, the fewest of any ever-present Premier League side over the same period.
It doesn't get any easier for them after this game with Manchester City the visitors at the weekend.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou speaking to Sky Sports: "[It will be] a tough contest. If you set aside their results, which have been inconsistent, they have a good line-up and players and Mauricio is a top manager. It's going to be a tough game for us. But we have been good and I am sure there is going to be a good atmosphere in the stadium."
On Brennan Johnson's start: "It is going to be a game when with both teams trying to play there will be space out there. Brennan's pace is great and he has had a bit of a disrupted start so I am looking forward to seeing what he can do for us.
"I think when you look at the rest of our team we have made some changes and Sonny came in the middle. It's just a bit of fluency and cohesion and we are working hard in training to make sure we are more potent in that final third."
