  1. 'What's Aberdeen's strategy?'published at 12:56 Greenwich Mean Time 29 October 2023

    HT: Kilmarnock 1-0 Aberdeen

    Martin Dowden
BBC Sport Scotland at Rugby Park

Derek McInnes will be over the moon going in at the break. His side deserve to be ahead.

They would have been satisfied with the number of real chances they managed to create and they were clearly the team on the ascendancy.

It's hard to work out what Aberdeen's strategy is here. They seem keen to miss out midfield, but the service to their forward players has been poor. Not a great display so far.

  2. HALF-TIMEpublished at 12:53 Greenwich Mean Time 29 October 2023

    Kilmarnock 1-0 Aberdeen

Well, that was some way to end the first period.

I was just about to say that was a 49-minute half we could forget about, but that Kyle Vassell finish has lit up this game.

    Kyle Vassell

    Where did that come from?!

Three goals in two games for Kyle Vassell, who takes one touch inside before rifling a shot low into the near corner from the right of the box.

    A superb finish.

    Kilmarnock 0-0 Aberdeen

    Willie Miller
Former Aberdeen captain on BBC Sportsound

The two strikers for Aberdeen have gone missing, they have done nothing so far, they have received no service.

It has been all about Killie, so Barry Robson is going to need to have a think about what he can do at half time to win this game.

Aberdeen's back three need to be alert to head away another cross before Duk gives away a cheap foul on Brad Lyons.

The ball comes in to Joe Wright, who glances wide a huge chance.

The resulting corner eventually falls for Kyle Vassell, whose goalbound effort is smashed into the chest of Nicky Devlin.

That's a sore one. Kelle Roos is also down after taking a wee knock at that corner.

A long Killie throw causes panic in the Dons box.

Stuart Findlay gets the first contact, flicking on to Brad Lyons.

The midfielder's header ends up flying straight into the arms of Kelle Roos.

  17. 'Too many hopeful passes'published at 12:33 Greenwich Mean Time 29 October 2023

    Kilmarnock 0-0 Aberdeen

    Willie Miller
Former Aberdeen captain on BBC Sportsound

There are too many long balls, too many hopeful balls. Even if they do win possession, the quality of passing has been poor.

There have been little spells where quality has been beginning to appear, but there's been too many occasions without it.

Killie centre-half Joe Wright is down needing a bit of treatment.

A bit of magic spray is being applied to his ankle and seems to be doing the trick.

Oh, out of nowhere Duk almost gets in over the top.

Will Dennis eventually gets out to deny him, but that was a bit of an unnecessary panic from Killie.
