If Man City don't win tonight, or indeed if Aston Villa win, then there will be clear water between themselves and Arsenal.

Now, we've been here before haven't we? Granted this is a stronger looking Arsenal, so as a Man City player or fan, you wouldn't want Arsenal getting too far ahead.

As we speak they are still favourites, but they need everyone fit again, namely Kevin de Bruyne. But I think they will be run much closer this year.

Brighton with a lot of the ball but Brentford then ready to break at pace when they get the ball. No chances yet. Albion's Kaoru Mitoma is very involved, he looks properly match fit again.

Liverpool's Alexis Mac Allister is back on his feet after taking a nasty knock.

The visitors haven't done too much so far at Bramall Lane as a Trent Alexander-Arnold free-kick is headed away.

Lively from Jordan Ayew as he makes a purposeful run down the left flank. With the Cherries defenders backing off, that enables Ayew to cut in on to his right foot and it's a pretty good effort, but Neto sticks up an arm to push it over the bar.

Good surging run from Brighton's Kaoru Mitoma but his pass out right to Facundo Buonanotte isn't the best.

Fulham have had most of the ball so far at Craven Cottage, comfortably knocking things about.

Nottingham Forest have begun with a deep, low block.

• Nottingham Forest have lost seven of the past nine league meetings, with their two wins during that period both coming at Craven Cottage in the Championship in 2019 and 2022.
• Fulham did the double last season against Forest, whose solitary top-flight away victory in this fixture was by 3-2 in May 1967 (drawn three, lost six).

Fairly even start in the 'well-run teams who begin with Br and spent most of my life in the Football League but now seem like established Premier League clubs' derby.

A good start for the Blades as Gustavo Hamer fires in a dangerous wide free-kick that flies just ahead of three in striped shirts trying to get their head on to the ball at the back post.

An open start at Selhurst Park. The hosts get a free-kick near the left touchline and it finds Jordan Ayew free in the middle, but he can't get much power on the header and it's easily dealt with by Neto in the Bournemouth goal.

An early chance for Bournemouth's Luis Sinisterra, well it would've been if the ball hadn't bounced off him and harmlessly out of play because of a far too heavy first touch.

The home fans gave Chris Wilder a standing ovation as he waved to supporters just before kick-off.

He's currently sporting a very wide grin.

We have had a minute's applause at Selhurst Park as the fans, players and coaching staff play tribute to former England manager Terry Venables, who died recently aged 80.

He played for and managed the Eagles during his career.
