A little bit of fortune has allowed Burnley to keep it at 1-0. Liverpool look ruthless.
Burnley 0-1 Liverpool
Another chance. Harvey Elliott tees up Mohamed Salah, he forces a save from James Trafford and it bounces kindly back off Jordan Beyer.
Burnley 0-1 Liverpool
Joe Gomez's strike deflects behind for another corner but it's easily dealt with by Burnley.
The minutes are ticking away now and if Burnley can go in only 1-0 down, they will be fairly pleased considering the chances Liverpool have had!
Burnley 0-1 Liverpool
James Trafford has been a busy man. Wataru Endo almost squeezes it into the bottom left corner but the Burnley goalkeeper scrambles across to push it behind for a corner.

Liverpool need to find a goalscorer or two in January.

Burnley 0-1 Liverpool
Almost a look-in for Lyle Foster but Trent Alexander-Arnold is back sharply to intercept a dangerous pass.
Burnley, for a second, were close to opening Liverpool up, but the visitors recovered well.

Not sure why anyone thinks Liverpool are more likely to succeed than City or this Arsenal team. Good team but still have work to do and by no means guaranteed to win!
Ed
Burnley 0-1 Liverpool
Nice feet from Cody Gakpo but Josh Brownhill does well to rob it off Wataru Endo.
Burnley's possession doesn't last long though.
Burnley 0-1 Liverpool
Trent Alexander-Arnold takes an age to take a throw-in and gets a stern telling off by referee Paul Tierney.
The home fans were whistling and booing to get the referee's attention.

How is it still only 1-0?!
Burnley 0-1 Liverpool
Mohamed Salah rattles the crossbar with a ferocious strike after he's played in by Joe Gomez.
Lovely play from Liverpool and you feel it's only a matter of time before they add to their tally.

Never a foul by Nunez, not in a month of Sundays. Shocking decision to disallow the goal.
Chris
The ref would never give a penalty for that so how is it a foul against the attacker?
Micki
I’m no Liverpool fan but that is unimaginably soft. There is nothing wrong with that goal - reminds me of the Sol Campbell goal against Portugal that was ruled out in 2004 (one for the teenagers there!)

Burnley 0-1 Liverpool
Mohamed Salah leaves it for Ryan Gravenberch on the edge of the box but he can't get a shot off in time.
Over half an hour gone and Alisson has touched it nine times, the majority from goal kicks.

Liverpool look a side definitely worthy of winning things this season, with Man City losing points and Arsenal doomed to fail (much like previous seasons) I can’t see many stopping them…

Burnley 0-1 Liverpool
Sander Berge sees Wilson Odobert waving his arms, wanting the ball on the right, and delivers it to him.
Odobert had Lyle Foster and Zeki Amdouni waiting hungrily in the box but he skews the cross straight out for a goal kick.
Waste.

I think it was a foul, just coming from behind. Charlie Taylor didn't see Nunez behind him. It's a great little finish anyway from Gakpo.
For all of Liverpool's dominance, Burnley are still in the game.
Burnley 0-1 Liverpool
Cody Gakpo is stopped mid-celebration after his strike ripples the net but won't count for a foul in the build-up by Darwin Nunez.
It was Gakpo's strike that was initially saved by James Trafford and Nunez comes in to try and win the loose ball, which Gakpo then pounces on.
There's a VAR check to make sure and the decision stands - no goal.

It's the Liverpool fans making all the noise at Turf Moor and their team should already be on their way home with the three points in the bag.
Burnley have managed to keep it at 1-0 and that will give them hope, but they seem to lack the quality in the final third to trouble Liverpool's makeshift backline.

Tom: We don't want to be regretting not converting these chances and Burnley's confusion in defence at full time!
