  1. Berger 'lost concentration'published at 13:35 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2023

    HT: Arsenal 3-1 Chelsea

    Rachel Brown-Finnis
    Ex-England goalkeeper on BBC Two

Berger's first thought process was to push the defender who was blocking her out of the way. So you've already lost a fraction of a second. If she had gone straight to the line of the ball, she probably would've got there.

But she lost that concentration by dealing with that blocking player in front of her.

Bit of half-time watching for you.

England captain Leah Williamson has been distracting herself from her ACL recovery by learning to play the piano.

She set herself the challenge of learning Shania Twain's - Still The One and playing it with the BBC Concert Orchestra at Maida Vale Studios in London.

    Absolute tune, to be fair.

Can Arsenal's Williamson play piano with the BBC Concert Orchestra?

  3. 'Russo has had a fantastic season'published at 13:32 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2023

    HT: Arsenal 3-1 Chelsea

    Fara Williams
Former England midfielder on BBC Two

I think Alessia Russo has had a fantastic season for Arsenal, she is aggressive with her runs and makes it difficult for the centre-half to pick her up.

Russo can also execute, those type of finishes goes underrated.

  4. Mead's goal was 'perfection'published at 13:31 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2023

    HT: Arsenal 3-1 Chelsea

    Rachel Brown-Finnis
    Ex-England goalkeeper on BBC Two

Beth Mead is a right-footed player and she's spoken before about her left foot being her weaker foot, but it's the execution on this.

Mjelde, although she doesn't get the contact to stop the goal, it's the experience from Mjelde to drop onto the line, she makes the goal really small.

Mead executes it literally a couple of feet above Mjelde and below the crossbar. It's perfection.

The games are coming thick and fast today with Brighton v Leicester and Liverpool v Bristol City kicking off at 14:00 GMT.

So, let's get some team news for those ones...

  8. 'End-to-end'published at 13:26 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2023

    HT: Arsenal 3-1 Chelsea

    Fara Williams
Former England midfielder on BBC Two

It has been a great game, end-to-end. Arsenal have taken control of the game and Chelsea have struggled to get out of their own half.

Beth Mead has a typical finish for her goal, she hovers out wide and unmarked.

She shapes to shoot and cuts in on her left foot, Mead has returned [from injury] sharp and made a huge impact. It is surprising, you can come back from injury with some hesitation.

  9. Dominant Arsenal leaves Hayes frustratedpublished at 13:25 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2023

    HT: Arsenal 3-1 Chelsea

    Emma Sanders
    BBC Sport at Emirates Stadium

A totally deserved lead for Arsenal. They were a constant attacking threat, controlled the game in midfield, took their chances and defended well when they needed to.

Chelsea, on the other hand, have been well below par and they just can't seem to deal with Arsenal at the moment.

Emma Hayes and assistant coach Denise Reddy looked deflated as they headed down the tunnel, while Jonas Eidevall was practically bounding into the changing rooms.

Sam Kerr and a few Chelsea team-mates held back to let out some frustration with the officials, while Beth Mead gave a fan a thumbs up before she headed in from the rain.

  10. HALF-TIMEpublished at 13:21 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2023

    Arsenal 3-1 Chelsea

Steph Catley is looking for Amanda Ilestedt again with her corner but this time it's cleared away.

What a half from Arsenal. I reckon Chelsea are in for a bit of a telling off.

Arsenal have a corner with 30 seconds to go until the break.

Into the final minute of what has been a very entertaining first half.

Alessia Russo gets hold of it on the edge of the area and goes for goal but there's an important block from a blue shirt.

  13. 'Russo battling with Carter'published at 13:19 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2023

    Arsenal 3-1 Chelsea

    Gilly Flaherty
Former Chelsea and England defender on BBC Two

Alessia Russo has done well battling with Jess Carter, they are both physical players.

Russo is doing well to hold the ball up and bring others into play.

  14. Postpublished at 45+2 mins

    Arsenal 3-1 Chelsea

Chelsea are trying to finish this half strongly, they would love a goal before the break.

Arsenal can't afford to switch off now after dominating the half.

  15. INJURY TIMEpublished at 45+1 mins

    Arsenal 3-1 Chelsea

We'll have five minutes added on at the end of the half as Erin Cuthbert lets fly from range.

Manuela Zinsberger palms it away, enough to clear the danger.

  16. Postpublished at 44 mins

    Arsenal 3-1 Chelsea

We're into the final minute of the first half but there will be a bit of stoppage time because of that head injury earlier on.

  17. Postpublished at 44 mins

    Arsenal 3-1 Chelsea

That was Amanda Ilestedt's first WSL goal of the season since joining Arsenal in the summer.

She loved a header at the World Cup so has that opened the floodgates for the Sweden defender?

  18. 'You cannot write Chelsea off'published at 13:12 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2023

    Arsenal 3-1 Chelsea

    Gilly Flaherty
Former Chelsea and England defender on BBC Two

It is important Arsenal stay on the front-foot, with a team like Chelsea you cannot write them off.

Arsenal at least need to get to half-time with the score like this.

  19. Postpublished at 41 mins

    Arsenal 3-1 Chelsea

Tell you what I wouldn't like to be in that Chelsea dressing room at half time.

  20. Postpublished at 13:11 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2023

    Arsenal 3-1 Chelsea

    Emma Sanders
    BBC Sport at Emirates Stadium

Wow! Chelsea are all over the place. Arsenal are on fire and really enjoying themselves.

The hosts have been excellent and there's that run in behind from Alessia Russo that Chelsea have failed to deal with all half.

Chelsea goalkeeper Ann-Katrin Berger's error for the second goal was still being played on the big screen when Russo made the run.
