Chelsea are well on top in terms of the scoreline but Liverpool are still fighting in this game.

That was a big call. The Liverpool bench is all up with their arms in the air. They were expecting a penalty and the Liverpool players were too.

It is on the edge of the box, it is very tight.

The referee doesn't listen to Liverpool's claims for a penalty.

Shanice van de Sanden sends another cross into the box and Ceri Holland falls to the ground on the edge of the box after a challenge with Erin Cuthbert, but no penalty is given.

She was left out of the starting line-up for the Champions League tie on Wednesday against Real Madrid and Lauren James is certainly playing as if she has a point to prove.

She came on and hit the crossbar in the 2-2 draw in Spain and has been absolutely superb here today. Two goals, one assist and very probably guiding her team to three points. A cracking angled finish for Chelsea's third.

Emma Hayes in the Chelsea technical area loved it, as did the home fans at Stamford Bridge.

It's a long way back for Liverpool now.

Liverpool continue to knock on the door, though.

It's Shanice van de Sanden who creates yet another chance as she drills a cross into the box and miscommunication means Zecira Musovic can't catch it and Eve Perisset has to head behind.

For those who like expected goals statistics, Chelsea have 1.61 and Liverpool have just 0.22.

That goes some way to illustrating how much control Chelsea have had.

What a world class finish from Lauren James, from that angle and that far out. What a finish. Incredible.

For me, the distances all game Liverpool have been off them and they gave James too much space there.

Immediately after Shanice van de Sanden's chance Chelsea go forwards with Lauren James trying to curl a cross towards Sjoeke Nusken, but her ball is overhit.

Shanice van de Sanden tries her luck once again but she can't quite get herself settled after taking a heavy touch and launches her spinning efffort wide of the far post.

There's a cheer from the home fans as Sam Kerr is unleashed behind the Liverpool defence but she goes too wide with her run and ends up being closed down.
