Liverpool manager Matt Beard, speaking in his pre-match news conference: "I think she's had a massive impact. She took over from me at Chelsea so I know exactly the challenges she had when she went in.
"She's driven a lot of change. She's been outspoken in the media, which has raised awareness, and I think she really deserves this opportunity.
"She's been a great servant to Chelsea, she's been a great servant to women's football in this country, and having worked in America I know what the national team means to the country. It's one of the biggest jobs in women's football and I'm sure she'll be fine with it."

This is Chelsea's first home game since manager Emma Hayes announced she was leaving, with her becoming the next United States boss at the end of the season.
Writing in the matchday programme, she said: "It's not a decision I took lightly and it's probably one of the hardest things I've done in my life. When you spend 11 years with a club as special as this, it becomes you. Chelsea is my club and it always will be.
"We've grown so much together and it really has been the experience of a lifetime to be a part of this, making memories and forming friendships that will last forever.
"It felt like I was abandoning my family when I told the girls and I've felt a lot of sadness in the days since. I'm so proud of what we have achieved together. I hope you understand why I've taken this decision.
Captain Millie Bright said all the players were "gutted" and added: "I've got such a great relationship with Em, she's been a mentor to me for so many years and almost like a life coach.
"We're losing a special manager and more than that, a special person. Em has been a serial winner for a decade. Now we just have to stay focused on the season, that's what Emma wants, that's what she's doing so we remain focused on the task ahead - winning trophies."

The big news for Chelsea this week was the confirmation that Emma Hayes will take over as manager of the United States at the end of this season.
Her deal will see her become the highest-paid coach in the women's game, in a deal on parity with men's manager Greg Berhalter.
Hayes sat down with Fara Williams to talk through her decision to depart the Women's Super League before today's game.

Chelsea have had quite the start to the season.
They're one of only two teams to remain unbeaten after their opening six games and have only dropped points in one fixture.
Will that record continue this afternoon?
Chelsea v Liverpool (13.30 GMT)
This is Chelsea's third game in just six days - and their last match was filled with controversy.
They drew 2-2 away to Real Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday.
The Blues dominated their Group D opener but were undone by two controversial decisions - a late penalty call against them and a last-gasp winner ruled out for offside.
"I can't remember the last time we were in a game like that when two humongous decisions like that have gone against us," said manager Emma Hayes.
It's safe to say she'll be hoping for nothing similar this afternoon.

It could be a record-breaking afternoon for Chelsea and Wales midfielder Sophie Ingle, who will set a new WSL attendance record if she plays today.
The 32-year-old is currently level on 183 WSL games with former Birmingham City and Tottenham defender Kerys Harrop. Ingle has won the WSL title four times, the Women's FA Cup on three occasions and the Women's League Cup once.
Earlier this year Ingle was awarded an OBE for services to football.
She began her career at Chelsea, had spells at Bristol Academy and Liverpool before returning back to Chelsea in 2018 and has played 120 times for Wales as well as four matches for Great Britain.
After matching Harrop's total, Ingle said: "It's an honour for me to reach this, especially at a club like Chelsea.
"I've been in the league for many years, and it is getting harder and harder every year. But it's a nice achievement for myself."

It's a trip to Stamford Bridge for Liverpool this weekend to begin the Women's Super League action against league leaders Chelsea.
Emma Hayes takes charge of her first game for Chelsea this afternoon since it was confirmed she will take over as manager of the United States at the end of the season.
Liverpool held Tottenham to a draw last time out, while Hayes' side were 3-0 victors away to Everton.
The Reds have faltered since their early bright start but they've been dangerous on the road - they beat Arsenal at Emirates Stadium on the opening weekend.
Is another unexpected upset on the cards this afternoon?
Let's begin by finding out how the teams line up.
