Rob: It is a bit odd that Chelsea are playing in the only game today when they were the only WSL side to also have a midweek game.

Rachael Laws completely miscues a usually routine catch and she needs her defenders to step in at the last second. Sophie Ingle was ready and waiting to poke the ball in but Gemma Bonner manages to scramble it away.

Bonner is now down injured and the physios are on.

An early warning for Chelsea after the ball is spilled on the edge of their own box.

Shanice van de Sanden gets a shot away but Zecira Musovic is able to get down in time to keep it away from the goal.

And the second half gets started.

Liverpool make a change at the break with Marie Hobinger making way for Missy Bo Kearns.

Boycie: Well, to describe Chelsea’s second goal as a “bullet header” is insane! Mis-timed into the ground surely?

The stats are on Chelsea's side... but the last time they squandered a half-time lead was against today's opponents.

Chelsea are unbeaten in their last 18 Women's Super League matches when leading at half-time (W18, D0) dating back to 18th September 2022 against Liverpool (L1-2).

As things stand Chelsea are set to move six points clear at the the top of the table - albeit Arsenal could close the gap again when they play tomorrow.

They'll be unbeaten after seven matches if they see out the win this afternoon.

A very entertaining opening 45 minutes and England forward Lauren James has been the star of the half with one goal and an excellent assist for Aggie Beever-Jones' goal.

Liverpool were only behind for less than two minutes after the first home goal, but have not been able to test Zecira Musovic since falling behind for a second time.

Chelsea on course to extend their incredible home record and move six points clear at the top of the WSL table. But Liverpool are not out of this one yet.

Liverpool are still in this. They will get in at half time and get organised, it will be interesting to see if they change shape a bit and maybe go to a front three.

Chelsea, though, still have plenty more gears left in them.

Rachael Laws will be breathing a sigh of relief there!

It was one of those blind balls, the defender plays it back and doesn't really read the play well.

That was very fortunate. Sam Kerr chases down Rachael Laws but thankfully for the Liverpool goalkeeper her clearance deflects behind for a goal-kick rather than towards her goal.

We've had a few stoppages across the first half and the fourth official adds another four minutes.

Shanice van de Sanden tries to wriggle through the Chelsea defence but there's no getting past that.

Jess Carter times her two-footed challenge to perfection.

Kirsty Dowle gets her cards out for the first time this afternoon and Gemma Bonner is penalised after pulling Sam Kerr to the floor on the half-way line to prevent a counter-attack.
