  1. FULL-TIMEpublished at 14:58 Greenwich Mean Time 19 November 2023

    FT: Everton 2-2 Bristol City

It's all over Walton Hall Park.

A goal apiece in either half means Everton and Bristol City each earn a point.

In truth a point is probably a fair outcome. Despite Everton's dominance of possession at times, Bristol City found a clinical edge to twice come from behind to level the score.

The away side will likely be happier with the result, as the point means that they leapfrog Aston Villa to rise off the foot of the table.

Leicester made a superb start to the WSL season with wins over Bristol City and Everton, as well as a draw at Manchester United.

But Willie Kirk's side have lost their last three and conceded six to Arsenal last weekend.

    Can they stop the rot?

  3. Gunners trying to avoid unwanted recordpublished at 14:56 Greenwich Mean Time 19 November 2023

    HT: Brighton 0-1 Arsenal

Arsenal are halfway to avoiding an unwanted club record.

They have failed to keep a clean sheet in their past nine matches, and have never gone 10 games without shutting out the opposition.

But Brighton have not hit the back of the net so far today.

Both teams know a victory today would be huge, but can either find a third goal?

  5. Postpublished at 14:52 Greenwich Mean Time 19 November 2023

    Everton 2-2 Bristol City

Almost at the 90 minute mark now. Surely a goal at this stage would prove the winner?

Bristol City have upped the tempo yet again in the last few minutes, it would be a remarkable turnaround from twice trailing if they found a winning goal.

Tottenham have been this season's surprise package and sit fourth in the Women's Super League going into this weekend's games.

They recorded three successive wins after their opening day defeat by Chelsea, although they've since drawn back-to-back games against Everton and Liverpool.

"I'm still very happy with the performances and the way we play so the result is not the best the last two games, but the performance is quite good and we create chances and have possession and look like the way we want to play," said manager Robert Vilahamn.

"The result has not been the best the last two games but the performance is good and the players are taking steps. It's a part of the journey we do and I'm not stressed about it."

Spurs face Leicester City this weekend in their final game before a significant increase in fixture difficulty, with Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal also on the way before the winter break.

West Have have just won just once in six WSL games and boss Rehanne Skinner acknowledged in her programme notes before their clash with Aston Villa that the team is "in transition" at the moment.

"We’ve been really pleased with some elements of our performance across all of our games this season," she wrote.

"But we’re going through this transition period, we will naturally face some highs and lows. The players want to progress, want to work hard and have the right work ethic to take on board what we’re trying to do."

    Brighton 0-1 Arsenal

Beth Mead of Arsenal controls the ball whilst under pressure from Emma KullbergImage source, Getty Images

Almost an equaliser for Brighton in first-half injury time. A header from Julia Zigiotti at the back post and it would've probably just crept in off the post, but Manuela Zinsberger unconventionally manages to get her hands to it and shovel it behind for a corner, which comes to nothing.

That's the last meaningful action of the half and Arsenal lead at the break through Stina Blackstenius' strike.

  9. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 14:50 Greenwich Mean Time 19 November 2023

    Everton 2-2 Bristol City

Another change for the home same. Katja Snoeijs is replaced by Hanna Bennison.

Just before the equaliser Emma Bissell had come on to replace goalscorer Martina Piemonte, who had picked up that yellow card earlier on in the game.

Nathalie Bjorn was also brought on in place of Karen Holmgaard.

Twice in the lead, and twice pegged back.

How do Everton respond to this setback now?

Naturally Bristol City have been buoyed by their second equaliser, and in truth look the more likely to go on and find a winning goal.

Bristol City have equalised yet again!

A harmless ball forward down the right hand side seemed to have been dealt with by Everton, but Amalie Thestrup had other ideas.

The forward refused to give up on the loose ball and latched onto the end of it, producing a wonderful lofted finish over the on-rushing Courtney Brosnan.

What a finish we have in store here!

  12. Postpublished at 14:44 Greenwich Mean Time 19 November 2023

    Brighton 0-1 Arsenal

Stina Blackstenius' goal is the difference so far - coming from Arsenal's only attempt on target.

Elisabeth Terland has now just registered Brighton's first effort on target, chasing on to a long ball forward and hitting it powerfully, but away goalkeeper Manuela Zinsberger was well placed to parry the shot. She would've been disappointed if she had let that one in.

  13. GREAT SAVE!published at 14:42 Greenwich Mean Time 19 November 2023

    Everton 2-1 Bristol City

Courtney Brosnan to the rescue again for Everton.

A fantastic solo run from Ffion Morgan down the right hand side produces a great shooting opportunity. However the Bristol winger's effort is comfortably contained by the Everton keeper.

They've got a set piece opportunity out on the left hand side, can they threaten the Everton goal?

  16. Postpublished at 14:38 Greenwich Mean Time 19 November 2023

    Brighton 0-1 Arsenal

Arsenal's Beth Mead hits the ground in the penalty area after a challenge from Brighton's Jorelyn Carabali, but the referee is not interested - and rightly so.

The pair then challenge for the ball again near the touchline, with the Brighton player leaping over Mead, but then landing heavily on her opponent.

Mead needs a bit of medical attention but should be fine to carry on.

  17. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 14:38 Greenwich Mean Time 19 November 2023

    Everton 2-1 Bristol City

A first change of the game for Bristol City. Potentially a change of shape for the visitors as forward Abi Harrison is replaced by midfielder Emily Syme.

Beth Mead has the space just outside the penalty area for Arsenal and she looks to send it to the back post, but the cross is overhit and no team-mate can get on the end of it.

Into the last 20 minutes or so of this game and if the score remains the same, Everton will claim a first home win of the season.

What a huge three points it would be for Brian Sorensen's side.
