Concern for Everton here as Aurora Galli is down holding her shin.

She seemed to collide with several defenders on the edge of the Bristol box.

It looks like she will be fine to continue.

Another corner into the box from Bristol and yet another save from Courtney Brosnan.

The Everton keeper can only punch the ball into the middle of the box, however, and a goal-line clearance is needed from captain Megan Finnigan to deny a certain equaliser.

The away side are edging closer to an equaliser here.

A first spell of sustained pressure from the visitors in the game produces the first save from Courtney Brosnan.

A succession of corners go by initially without incident, but the follow up from the second ball into the box forces the Everton keeper to fly out of her goal and punch the ball away.

Just about 30 minutes into this contest and Everton are good value for their lead.

Martina Piemonte's strike, her first of the season, and the team's first open-play goal of the campaign, has them ahead.

They will surely be hoping to double their advantage before the interval.

It seems the entirety of the North West is shrouded in misty, driving rain today.

Everton don't seem too perturbed by it, however, as they continue to threaten the Bristol City penalty area.

Clare Wheeler has been an absolute menace down the right hand side for Everton in this opening 15 minutes or so.

Again she delivers a wicked low cross into the area, but among the chaos a Bristol defender manages to thump the ball clear.

It's been a very strong start from Everton, plenty of confidence on the ball and that early goal will only give the side even more impetus as the game goes on.
