    Leicester 1-0 Tottenham

Almost an immediate reply from Tottenham!

A wonderful whipped ball in from Jessica Naz on the left hand side is cleared at the last by the Leicester defence.

WSL top scorer Martha Thomas was lurking so it was just as well Sophie Howard was on hand to clear the danger.

  2. CLOSE!published at 15:24 Greenwich Mean Time 19 November 2023

    Brighton 0-1 Arsenal

So close for Beth Mead. Arsenal goalscorer Stina Blackstenius chases on to a long ball, cuts inside and flicks a square pass to Mead. The England forward strikes it from the edge of the penalty area, but it narrowly fires over the top.

  3. CLOSE!published at 15:21 Greenwich Mean Time 19 November 2023

    West Ham 0-0 Aston Villa

West Ham continue to pile on the pressure.

Dutch goalkeeper Daphne van Domselaar is forced to make a point-blank save for Villa to keep out a header from Hammers forward Riko Ueki.

A second goal in as many games for experienced midfielder Janice Cayman hands the hosts a deserved lead.

Hannah Cain had acres of space to run into down the left hand side, and she perfectly timed a square pass to Cayman, who slotted home past Becky Spencer with ease.

A deadly counter attack from the Foxes.

It's raining heavily in Manchester as rival teams prepare for the first WSL derby at Old Trafford.

Over 45,000 tickets were sold on Saturday and they were still available to buy today.

I thought the rain might put a few fans off but there were plenty soaking (literally) up the atmosphere when I arrived just after 14:00 GMT.

Those extra thousands attending today might not be WSL regulars so it's good to see Manchester United promote the next set of matches at Leigh Sports Village - their regular home ground - on banners outside of the stadium and on posters on the walls opposite.

The faces of some of the team's stars were also on the front of the stadium, including Manchester's own Millie Turner and Ella Toone.

    Brighton 0-1 Arsenal

Stina Blackstenius has one goal and nearly gets another one but just can't get a clean connection under pressure following Katie McCabe's cross from the left.

Arsenal come again down the other flank and Beth Mead jinks into the penalty area but runs into a wall of blue and white shirts and the chance comes and goes.

  7. CLOSE!published at 15:15 Greenwich Mean Time 19 November 2023

    West Ham 0-0 Aston Villa

It's all West Ham so far who look bang up for this one.

The Hammers are having a lot of joy down the flanks against Villa with their full-backs overlapping.

Risa Shimizu's cross-shot from the right rattles the side netting.

  8. 'Great awareness from Russo'published at 15:14 Greenwich Mean Time 19 November 2023

What a tackle from Alessia Russo. Great awareness from the striker.

  9. CLOSE!published at 15:14 Greenwich Mean Time 19 November 2023

    Brighton 0-1 Arsenal

Brighton are pushing for an equaliser. Maria Thorisdottir makes a burst forwards and slides a ball to her right and it is just about to be hit by Katie Robinson, but her England team-mate Alessia Russo had tracked back excellently and is able to produce a sliding challenge to deny Robinson and Brighton.

The corner is taken from the right by Vicky Losada and Guro Bergsvand meets it but her powerful header is just over the top.

  10. Postpublished at 15:13 Greenwich Mean Time 19 November 2023

    Leicester 0-0 Tottenham

Oof! Nervy moment for Becky Spencer in the Tottenham goal.

The high press from the Leicester front line almost catches her dwelling too long on the ball. She may not want to risk that too many more times this afternoon!

  11. Postpublished at 15:11 Greenwich Mean Time 19 November 2023

    Leicester 0-0 Tottenham

It's been a strong start from the Foxes, plenty of attacking intent and a few clear sightings of the Spurs goal.

The performance so far has been rather similar to their first half showing against Arsenal last time out, although we all know how that game ended.

  12. CLOSE!published at 15:10 Greenwich Mean Time 19 November 2023

    West Ham 0-0 Aston Villa

West Ham on the front foot in the early stages against Aston Villa.

A rampaging run by Kirsty Smith down the left flank culminates with a teasing ball into the penalty area but Villa are able to scramble the ball away with Emma Harries lurking.

A few moments later a shot on the turn from Riko Ueki from the edge of the box flashes just past the post.

  13. GREAT SAVE!published at 15:07 Greenwich Mean Time 19 November 2023

    Leicester 0-0 Tottenham

    So close to the opener!

Jutta Rantala dribbles through several Tottenham players and forces a fine save from Becky Spencer.

For all the world it seemed that Missy Goodwin has a free tap in in front of goal, but defender Ashleigh Neville somehow gets a foot in just ahead of her.

  14. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 15:06 Greenwich Mean Time 19 November 2023

    Brighton 0-1 Arsenal

A change from Brighton manager Melisa Phiilips at the break as on comes Charlize Rule and she replaces Li Mengwen.

And the second half gets under way.

  15. CLOSE!published at 15:05 Greenwich Mean Time 19 November 2023

    Leicester 0-0 Tottenham

Missy Goodwin, back in the starting lineup for the Foxes, is the first home player to take aim at goal.

A quick give and go with Lena Petermann makes space for a shot, but Goodwin's low drive is blocked by Luana Buhler at close range.

  16. 'Tidy finish'published at 15:03 Greenwich Mean Time 19 November 2023

    HT: Brighton 0-1 Arsenal

    Karen Carney
Former England midfielder on Sky Sports

    On Stina Blackstenius' goal...

The defensive display from Brighton, at no point do they put pressure on the ball when Arsenal scored.

Nobody gets up tight and nobody is around Stina Blackstenius, Brighton have a poor clearance and it is a tidy finish.

  19. 'Not just an ordinary game'published at 15:01 Greenwich Mean Time 19 November 2023

Manchester United v Manchester City (16:30 GMT)

Manager Marc Skinner of Manchester United Women talks to Hannah BlundellImage source, Getty Images

Over 45,000 tickets have already been sold for the Manchester derby this afternoon, a record for the fixture at Old Trafford.

Marc Skinner's United side remain unbeaten so far this season, having scored 19 goals across their last four games in all competitions.

With champions Chelsea having extended their lead at the top of the table to six points by thrashing Liverpool on Saturday, a win is surely a must for last season's runners-up.

City suffered an unexpected defeat at the hands of Brighton last time out and no team has ever gone on to win the WSL title after more than two defeats in a season.

  20. 'Arsenal could have changed the tempo'published at 14:59 Greenwich Mean Time 19 November 2023

    HT: Brighton 0-1 Arsenal

    Emma Byrne
Former Ireland goalkeeper on Sky Sports

Brighton have defended quite well but I feel Arsenal have not passed the ball around quick enough.

On occasions Arsenal could have changed the tempo and exploited spaces.
