    Tottenham 0-1 Brentford

James Maddison boots a quick free-kick straight at Christian Norgaard, who has already been booked. There was nowhere the Brentford man could go but the lack of a second yellow has only kicked up the volume a notch. As Alan said there are some rattled heads out there.

Maupay’s doing a great job of winding up the entire Spurs team. Incoming red for Romero

    Man City 2-0 Burnley

    Burnley can't get out.

Jeremy Doku wins City a wide free-kick which Kevin De Bruyne stands over and whips goalwards, but Clarets keeper James Trafford is able to palm it away.

  4. 'Spurs didn't take their early chances'published at 20:09 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January

    Tottenham 0-1 Brentford

    Glenn Hoddle
Former England and Tottenham manager on TNT Sports

Spurs started really well and didn't take their chances when they got opportunities and now, Brentford are looking like scoring themselves really.

Richarlison has the ball in the net but only after Nathan Collins hits the deck. There's a very slight nudge and everyone knew that was a foul.

    Tottenham 0-1 Brentford

That's four games in a row where Neal Maupay has scored so...

  7. Carlos Vicens gets the creditpublished at 20:08 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January

    Man City 2-0 Burnley

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport at the Etihad Stadium

The member of Pep Guardiola's backroom team the City boss went to celebrate with after his side's second goal was Carlos Vicens.

A lower league player in Spain, he moved into coaching and initially came to City on work experience in 2017 and was eventually appointed assistant coach to the under-12s and under-13s teams.

Vincens has progressed at City and is now involved as a set piece coach with the first team.

Work experience to credit from Pep.

    That is some journey.

Even when Maupay scores he bundles it in. Went to connect with his right boot, and it went in off his left knee. I don't know who is worse out of him and Werner.

Well I certainly wouldn't call this boring. There's plenty going on with Neal Maupay and James Maddison having a set-to, Rodrigo Bentancur having a nibble off the ball and then Ivan Toney almost forcing in a header at the far post for the visitors.

It's on the edge of going off, as Ethan Pinnock then backheels wide! That was superb.

City come again, hunting for that killer third. Josko Gvardiol has a pop from range but skews his effort over the bar.

Hmmmm I don't know, "pathetic" seems harsh, like Manchester City are very, very good. Desire alone won't beat them.

This is pathetic from Burnley, they were far better under Dyche when they had effort and desire.

Dax: Have Spurs had a meaningful shot on target yet? I know we've tried to walk it in several times. I coach U9 and tell them if they have a chance, take a shot. More shots = more goals. Spurs need to get to basics.

Anon: Spurs really miss Sarr. He drives the midfield, plays it quickly and starts every attack. Without him balls are played too narrow and too slowly- it’s boring!

    Man City 2-0 Burnley

Matheus Nunes fires in a cross from the left which Burnley's Ameen Al Dakhil knocks behind for a corner with Phil Foden lurking behind him.

It'll be game over if Burnley concede again.

It's early days to even mention this but a win for Brentford would actually be big for them at the wrong end of the table. As it stands they're all the way up to 12th, in fact.

So good Sean, although he's not been in the action much lately, and looks happy to let Matheus Nunes dictate things for the mo.

    Both already have an assist.

Jon: The Spurs game will be a late one with all this time wasting from Brentford already!

Martin: I don't know who this Neil Maupay is but there was one who used to play for Brighton and Everton who couldn't buy a goal. This one looks half decent.

    Man City 2-0 Burnley

You feel Burnley need to take every opportunity they get, even the half-chances.

They put in a corner which drops to Sander Berge, but the Norwegian can't connect with the ball as he swings his leg at it when unmarked in the box.

    The chance slips away.
