Man City v Burnley (19:30 GMT)

Manchester City away in the cold. Tough is the right word for it.

Burnley have 12 points in the Premier League. The only side to accrue as few after 21 games of a Premier League season and go on to avoid relegation was West Bromwich Albion in 2004-05.

    Is City away a must-win?!

Burnley defender Dara O'Shea speaking to TNT Sports: "It's nice for us to have some time off and everyone has come back rejuvenated and ready for the challenge.

"It is going to be a tough game. Everyone knows that. City are one of the best teams in the world and we just need to play our game. We have come a long way as a team and are competing a lot better and getting some points on the board. I think everyone has gelled and we are looking forward to it."

  6. Sutton's predictionspublished at 18:25 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January

Man City v Burnley (19:30 GMT)

    Chris Sutton's predictions

Chris Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League matches again this season, against a variety of guests.

For this week's midweek games, he takes on Chelsea fan Matthew Vaughn, director of new spy film Argylle.

    Sutton's prediction: 3-0

Former Manchester City defender Vincent Kompany will get a great reception when he brings his Burnley side back to Etihad Stadium, but I don't fancy his chances of getting anything else.

It's a big night at the top of the table, with Liverpool playing Chelsea later on Wednesday, and I am not expecting City to drop any points. I like the way Burnley play football - but they can be a little naïve as well.

It won't be a pummelling but City should win comfortably, and the hardest thing for their title rivals to consider is that Kevin de Bruyne is getting fitter and Erling Haaland will be back in action.

City have got such strength in depth and we have reached the stage of the season where they usually put their foot down. It would be a major shock if they slipped up at home to the Clarets.

Vaughn's prediction: City have got something to prove and we could see a big scoreline - I think they are just going to go for it. 4-0

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is hopeful Erling Haaland will be fit for tonight's Premier League encounter.

"We thought it was a bit less but in the end it was a little bit of a fracture of the bone," he revealed this week.

"When you have this injury, it’s a question of time - six to eight weeks.

"It is not about how much you work or whether you go to Abu Dhabi or not. The bone needs time to close. Now it’s at the end.

"We’ll give him three or four days and hopefully against Burnley he can play his first minutes."

But first, fantasy football players up and down the country are eagerly/nervously awaiting Manchester City's team news.

City's Erling Haaland could be involved for the first time since 6 December following a foot problem.

Ederson, John Stones and Manuel Akanji are fit, while Kevin De Bruyne awaits his first league start since suffering a hamstring injury at Burnley on the opening weekend of the season.

Burnley are expected to give a debut to striker David Datro Fofana, who has joined on loan from Chelsea.
