Chelsea have reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League by winning Group D.

Emma Hayes is looking to win the competition for the first time as Chelsea manager this season in her final season in charge - and they're on the right track.

That's all from us, but we'll be back on Saturday when Chelsea take on Brighton in the first Women's Super League fixture of the weekend

Chelsea also play Paris FC away in their final Champions League group-stage game next week.

Thanks for tuning in, and I'll leave you with Emma Sanders' report from Stamford Bridge.

Squad rotation is huge for Chelsea and they got valuable minutes and experience for a few players tonight, the likes of Hannah Hampton in goal, Aggie Beever-Jones off the bench too.

There will be players that won't want to be rested, that will want to play every game and not be on the bench. But for the longevity of the season and if the side want to compete across all four competitions and progress to the latter stages, you need to have that freshness.

Next week I think you will see even more rotation next week now they have qualified tonight.

  3. 'Frustrating night but win is all that matters'published at 21:56 Greenwich Mean Time 24 January

It was a frustrating game overall but the most important thing for Chelsea is that they got the win.

They weren't clinical, they wasted many chances, but the main thing is they got through to the quarter-finals.

Emma Hayes won't be happy with the entirety of the performance, but they are through with a game to spare and will be pleased enough with that.

It wasn't pretty, it wasn't easy but Chelsea did enough to go through as group winners with a game to spare and that is all they needed to do.

It's important to remember this is a side without Sam Kerr and Millie Bright - key players for Chelsea - which makes this an even better feeling.

I just think Chelsea need to manage the game now.

Reiten tried to get the ball into the box there and there was no need to.

If it weren't for Jess Carter's defending Hayley Raso was in on goal there. Just keep the ball. If you keep it Real Madrid can't hurt you.

Guro Reiten sends a cross into the Real Madrid box, nobody can connect with it.

If Chelsea hold on they will win the group and reach the quarter finals.

  10. INJURY TIMEpublished at 90+1 mins

A minimum of three minutes added on at the end of the second half at Stamford Bridge.

A few more minutes for Chelsea to get this over the line.

Chelsea have a corner and they opt to take it short this time.

Again, they don't really produce anything. Guro Reiten curls wide of the post from distance.

    Two more Real Madrid changes.

Kenti Robles and Maite Oroz are replaced by Olaya and Oihane.

I do think Chelsea will miss Sam Kerr as they look to progress deeper into the competition.

Watching tonight you see how much she is missed. You know she is going to be clinical, you can bank on her to put the ball away if it comes into the box.

Now Mia Fishel is starting so Chelsea also no longer have her as an option off the bench. It will be interesting to see if they can bring someone in to add another option in Kerr's absence.

I do think the lack of Kerr will be a big miss as they go on through the competition.

    That was speculative.

Erin Cuthbert must want her name back on the scoresheet after Chelsea's second goal was given as a Mylene Chavas own goal.

She launches the ball from a good distance. It ends up a long way from the net.

Nusken straight into the thick of the action here.

Good link up play. James with a lovely turn, Nusken with the third player run and the keeper produces a smart save.

She gets enough on it to direct it away from the Chelsea front line and her own defence clears.

Sjoeke Nusken almost makes an immediate impact.

Aggie Beever-Jones threads her through, but Nusken's first-time effort is saved by Mylene Chavas.

  19. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 76 mins

    Chelsea 2-1 Real Madrid

To the Chelsea fan who got in touch earlier to call for Aggie Beever-Jones' involvement, you'll be happy.

She's replaces Johanna Rytting Kaneryd, while Sjoeke Nusken replaces Fran Kirby.

  20. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 73 mins

    Chelsea 2-1 Real Madrid

Real Madrid made some changes between those two goals.

Naomie Feller and Freja Olofsson have replaced Caroline Moller and Teresa.
