    Chelsea just need a goal.

I think once they get that first things will open up and they will score more. But at the moment it is all about getting that first goal.

I don't think Emma Hayes was too happy going in at half time.

Chelsea want to win this, they don't want qualification hanging over them next week, so it is no surprise that she has brought on Lauren James. We all know what she can do, she is a real threat.

Can Chelsea find the breakthrough in the second half?

There's are changes for both sides at the break, with Athenea replacing Linda Caicedo for Real Madrid, while Lauren James is on for Mia Fishel.

James gets the second half started.

Even if Chelsea don't win tonight, they can still win the group and qualify for the quarter-finals.

They play Paris FC next week in their final group stage game.

Lauren James, what a talent she is. Her technique, the way she holds the ball up, the way she moves, the way she has that free role and fluidity in that Chelsea team is amazing.

Some of the technique she used to score those goals I was sat there thinking, ‘Oh I wish I could have done that! Would have been nice.’

[In the second half on Sunday] she went into where Mia Fishel was playing, in that number nine role. I think it probably takes a little bit away from her individually, but I think her playing as the nine really distracts the back line because they are always worried about where she is.

It changed things a bit for her, she was having to hold the ball up a little bit more, she had to almost take a step back a bit, but it was all for the team. And her finish for the third goal was pretty sublime.

Just how good is Lauren James?

She scored three against Manchester United in the Women's Super League on Sunday, bringing her total number of goals in the league to 10 for the season.

It wasn't the first time she's bagged a hat-trick in the league this year either - she did so in Chelsea's 5-1 win over Liverpool in November, which also took place at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea are without star striker Sam Kerr, who is the Champions League's joint-top scorer with five goals, after she suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury during their training camp over the winter break.

That makes it the perfect times for James - who is yet to score in the competition - to step up to the task in Europe.

She hasn't started tonight, but could she come on in the second half and make an impact from the bench?

  11. 'Madrid will be far happier of the two teams'published at 20:53 Greenwich Mean Time 24 January

Both teams have had their moments. Chelsea have dominated in regards to chances but they have just not been clinical.

They have taken too many touches, they have not acted quickly enough at times, they have been a bit sloppy in the final third.

Caicedo was Real Madrid's live wire, although she has been a little quieter since coming back on after that injury concern.

Out of the two teams I think Real Madrid will be a lot happier with that.

Plenty of conversations going on between players as they head down the tunnel.

Canadian duo Kadeisha Buchanan and Ashley Lawrence looked frustration at the back of the pack, while Hannah Hampton was getting instructions from the goalkeeping coach.

Chelsea found plenty of space in the first 25 minutes but have struggled more as the half went on. Real Madrid have grown into it.

Fran Kirby feeds Guro Reiten - as she has done many times in this game - but she can't immediately do anything with it.

Instead, she sends in a cross that's sent behind for a corner.
