    Chelsea 1-0 Everton

Everton's heads have certainly not dropped. They've got the leaders penned in and win another corner.

  2. Postpublished at 19:18 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February

    Chelsea 1-0 Everton

Chelsea have a three-point lead in the as-it-stands WSL table. Is this moving day in the title race?

  3. 'Good chance for Everton'published at 19:17 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February

    Chelsea 1-0 Everton

    Claire Rafferty
Ex-Chelsea and West Ham defender on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

A lovely little dink from Rikke Madsen on the right hand side to find Aurora Galli at the back post.

It seemed like she arrived just a touch too late to the box and couldn't get a proper contact on the ball. A good chance for Everton.

  4. CLOSE!published at 19:17 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February

    Chelsea 1-0 Everton

Oh what a chance for Everton! They nick the ball back, cross the ball brilliantly to the far post where Aurora Galli is arriving at full pace, she's stretching though and slices wide.

She was only about six yards out! A massive opportunity that.

    Chelsea 1-0 Everton

It was certainly harsh in my book.

Will Chelsea step on the gas now? So often we see the top WSL teams really pile on the punishment once the first goal goes in.

As a Chelsea fan, that is never a penalty. The ridiculous soft penalties are creeping into the women's game from the men's game!

  7. 'Emphatic finish from Reiten'published at 19:14 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February

    Chelsea 1-0 Everton

    Claire Rafferty
Ex-Chelsea and West Ham defender on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

Courtney Brosnan had no chance there. Emphatic finish from Guro Reiten into the bottom corner of the net.

I still think it is harsh on Everton, Wheeler had to go for the ball, and there wasn't much she could do to get out of the way once the ball had been played.

  8. Postpublished at 19:14 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February

    Chelsea 1-0 Everton

I thought there were two good tackles there from Clare Wheeler. She toed the ball away but caught the Chelsea forwad on her follow through.

  9. 'The studs looked to come down on the ankle'published at 19:13 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February

    Chelsea 1-0 Everton

    Claire Rafferty
Ex-Chelsea and West Ham defender on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

It looked initially like a decisive tackle from Clare Wheeler, but clearly the referee thinks that there was contact on Johanna Rytting Kaneryd.

You can see on the replay that the studs come down on the ankle after she plays the ball. The right decision was made in the end.

  11. PENALTY TO CHELSEApublished at 19:11 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February

    Chelsea 0-0 Everton

Out of nowhere Chelsea have a spot kick!

Mayra Ramírez skips past a defender really well and cuts the ball back, Clare Wheeler makes one tackle but is then pinged for a follow up.

She seems bemused - and is booked.

  12. 'Fantastic goalkeeping'published at 19:09 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February

    Chelsea 0-0 Everton

    Claire Rafferty
Ex-Chelsea and West Ham defender on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

    Fantastic goalkeeping from Courtney Brosnan.

From where we were sitting it looked like the ball was going to creep inside the post from the corner.

It seems like it is a little windier on the pitch compared to where we are, the ball seemed to be dragging a little back towards goal as it was sent into the box.

  13. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 19:08 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February

    Chelsea 0-0 Everton

How has that stayed out?! Chelsea so close to taking the lead as a corner is whipped in, Courtney Brosnan in the Everton goal gets under the ball originally but then does well to tip it onto the post and it's cleared.

  14. Postpublished at 19:05 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February

    Chelsea 0-0 Everton

Everton have never won a WSL match against the reigning champions (P18 D3 L15), losing their last nine in a row by an aggregate score of 33-2. They’ve played more WSL games against reigning champions without winning than any other side.

West Ham had never beaten Arsenal until this afternoon, mind...

  15. Postpublished at 19:03 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February

    Chelsea 0-0 Everton

Real confidence in their play as Everton knock it about nicely in their own defensive third. As Claire says, they're not getting it forwards too quickly but they are controlling the game to a degree. They've quietened the home crowd as well.

  16. 'Everton need to be quick in the transition'published at 19:01 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February

    Chelsea 0-0 Everton

    Claire Rafferty
Ex-Chelsea and West Ham defender on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

Everton need to try and get higher up the pitch when they wrestle the ball back.

At the moment out of possession they are defending deep and very compact but they need to have speed and precision in the transition, when they move from that low defence into attack.

  17. Postpublished at 19:00 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February

    Chelsea 0-0 Everton

So far so good for Everton. No real major scares as of yet.

    Chelsea 0-0 Everton

She's a physical presence up front, the record signing Mayra Ramirez. I don't think you can really replace a talent like Sam Kerr but breaking the world transfer record isn't a bad way to go about it.

Chelsea have spent 450,000 euros (£384,000) on the Colombia forward, plus up to 50,000 euros (£42,600) in add-ons.

  19. 'How do you defend against Lauren James?'published at 18:56 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February

    Chelsea 0-0 Everton

    Claire Rafferty
Ex-Chelsea and West Ham defender on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

I think Elise Stenevik is going for the more physical approach to try and defend against Lauren James, trying to get in her head. But how do you defend her really?

If you go one on one she has the skill to go around you, if you stand off she will run past you, but Stenevik has gone for the physical approach here.

As it stands Chelsea are returning to the top of the WSL table on 32 points, with Manchester City on 31 and Arsenal on 28.
