Jon: Good half for Villa that. Finally glad for VAR, Watkins was well onside. Hopefully we keep it up in the second half.

Villa look like they've had their blip over Christmas and January and coming on strong for the end of season. Top 4 and an European cup maybe!

    Topher

Cole: Adrian at 18.15, why would Watkins want to drop down from a top 4 team to a team currently in 11th and not looking like showing any sign of improvement any time soon?

If Rob Edwards wanted a rip-roaring start to the second half by his players, he's not got one. Luton are conceding possession far too easily.

Will Ollie Watkins score his third hat-trick of the season? Back under way.

Unai Emery deserves massive credit for the tactics he is deploying here.

They are causing so many problems with the ball. First Ramsey, then Rogers, and then Watkins.

Rob Edwards needs to change something here at the break.

  6. 'Everton will be bitterly disappointed'published at 18:38 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March

    FT: Everton 1-3 West Ham

    Glenn Murray
Former Brighton striker on Final Score

    Everton will be bitterly disappointed.

To come back from the down of missing the penalty, through Beto, and then ship three goals, Sean Dyche will be very disappointed with that.

  7. 'Can't believe what you're seeing'published at 18:37 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March

    FT: Everton 1-3 West Ham

    Everton

Everton boss Sean Dyche, speaking to Sky Sports: "It's the same frustration we've had for most of the season. We're creating that many chances we have to take them. It's our responsibility because it's getting to the point where you can't believe what you're seeing. It's an otherwise very good performance but you have to have conviction in front of goal.

"Penalty has to go in, at least we got a penalty which is a positive.

"It's not a blow it's a reality. Too many games have got away from us at Goodison. We create golden chances, we don't take them and they had two more chances and scored them both. I'm frustrated because we're doing good stuff - but you have to score a goal. The pressure is on us now to score goals."

  8. 'Chin up, stay positive'published at 18:35 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March

    FT: Tottenham 3-1 Crystal Palace

    Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "We gave the goals too easy to Tottenham. You must play perfect to win here. We did well for a long time but should have done it over 95 or 100 minutes.

"Players did a great job, especially in defence. Tottenham didn't find space. In defence we controlled the game. Maybe we could have been more confident with possession but this is part of our development.

"It's a disappointing result but a performance that gives us confidence and hope for the next weeks.

"Mistakes happen.Maybe it is a little tired, losing concentration. The players worked really hard to defend.

"I told the players' chin up, stay positive'. I am sure we will improve."

  9. 'Huge to turn it around'published at 18:34 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March

    FT: Everton 1-3 West Ham

    West Ham United

West Ham boss David Moyes, speaking to BBC Match of the Day:

"Bit of a throwback, probably never a 3-1 victory. Everton had a few chances and our goalkeeper played brilliantly well. Games in the Premier League are tight and small margins quite often win them.

"We hadn't done enough in the first half, I wanted us to make more chances. We scored three goals today and seven overall this week. Our keeper made three or four big saves today that probably stopped Everton getting a result.

"Huge to turn it around. It looked as if Everton might get another goal when they went ahead. Things went for us today when things haven't in recent weeks. [Tomas] Soucek brilliant goal so well done to the lads they were brilliant.

"We're getting back to where we were - in the main goal scoring has been pretty good this season. I'm really pleased.

"We're really looking forward to Europe, we're proud that we've done it three years in a row now. We go to Freiberg with confidence, scoring goals and trying not to concede."

  10. 'We gave absolutely everything'published at 18:32 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March

    FT: Newcastle 3-0 Wolves

    Wolverhampton Wanderers

Wolves manager Gary O'Neil, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "It's a tough end to the week, we had key players missing. We had large spells in the game where we looked in control and had loads of the ball.

"There was a touch of good fortune in both of their [first-half] goals. You don’t often see teams at St James’ Park come and dominate the ball. In terms of the group, they gave everything they had.

"It’s just one of those days that you have to accept. Newcastle are on the up, they have a lot of players coming back. We’re as short as we’ve been all year and we’re on the back of three games in six days.

"To miss [Hwang Hee-chan] and [Matheus] Cunha was one thing, but to lose [Jose] Sa and Pedro [Neto] was another blow. But in terms of a group willing to work, we looked like a really good side for a long, long spell."

  11. 'I don't want to talk about the referee'published at 18:30 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March

    FT: Nottingham Forest 0-1 Liverpool

    Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo, speaking to BBC Match of the Day...

On events leading to Liverpool goal: "I don't want to talk about the referee, sorry.

"We are frustrated, we are disappointed, we are sad. We did a good job and the City Ground, as always, was amazing for us. The disappointment is not giving the supporters what they deserve."

Similar to Man Utd game? "We have chances, we don't score and then we get punished at the end."

On performance: "It was good. We created moments and clear situations. The boys did really well. We are sad, it will take a while."

  12. 'Fantastic effort and performance'published at 18:29 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March

    FT: Brentford 2-2 Chelsea

    Brentford

Brentford boss Thomas Frank speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "I think this was a very good performance from us over all. The bounce back mentality I have been talking about after a bad West Ham game [where they lost 4-2 on Monday]. We played fine in the first half, there was not too much in it, not from Chelsea either.

"Second half, I think it was a fantastic effort and performance from the players. We have had a lot of set backs this season, very tough season for us at the moment. Another one with Ben Mee out, I think we have seven of our key players out.

"The way they have managed themselves this week, the way they have been speaking up, the way they were in the dressing room at half-time and before the game, wow. Just wow."

You do wonder after that second goal was given following the original offside decision on field, how on earth Diaz's goal for Liverpool was cancelled out by officials at Spurs last Sept.

Re. Paul 6pm - Barkley played in an Everton team with the likes of Lukaku and Samuel Eto'o that finished 5th and nearly qualified for the Champions League. Not quite the same.

Douglas Luiz, who has an assist, now has a booking. The thing is Villa are not even playing at full-throttle. Rob Edwards really needs to shake things up at half-time.

Far too easy, far too dominant.

It was a good save by Kaminski. I think a third goal here would really kill the game so it's really good to make that save on the verge of half-time.
