Everton continuing to do Everton things. Based on this run, lack of quality and another points deduction to come etc. sadly I think it’s going to be curtains for their stay in the Premier League!

  3. GREAT SAVE!published at 25 mins

    Man Utd 1-0 Everton

It's getting even sloppier from the hosts.

Garnacho gives the ball away from the umpteenth time allowing James Garner to forces a fine diving save from Andre Onana.

Amadou Onana then spoons the rebound over. How are Manchester United still in front?

    Man Utd 1-0 Everton

    Izzy Christiansen
Former Everton and England midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

There's a lot of antics on the touchline with Sean Dyche, a lot of aggressive body language.

He's trying to get his team higher up the pitch, pressing United and winning it back.

Another Everton shot as James Tarkowski heads a corner over the bar.

  6. Postpublished at 23 mins

    Man Utd 1-0 Everton

Another half-chance for Everton as Dwight McNeil floats in a brilliant ball which Jack Harrison can't quite reach at the back post.

I don't know if you guys saw that stat going round on social media this week saying that only Luton and Sheffield United have faced more shots than Manchester United this season.

But watching them for 25 minutes you can absolutely see why. The home side are just inviting so much pressure.

Hey, there's still a very long way to go in this one.

Everton are having more of the ball at the moment.

Everton do what they've done all season. Create chances. Miss chances. Give away goal. I can't wait for 2.50. No more Everton for three weeks.

    Rob, Ely

Although they have said it after almost every game for the past two years Everton still haven't learned that they must take their chances. Until they solve that they will not begin to compete.

    Man Utd 1-0 Everton

Jack Harrison, once of Manchester City and on loan from Leeds United, has a chance for Everton.

But, despite having acres on the edge of the box, thunders an effort wide of the target.

Is it going to be that kind of day for Everton?

  10. 'Wayne Rooney'published at 12:49 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

    Man Utd 1-0 Everton

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport at Old Trafford

Wayne Rooney served both of these clubs with distinction, although clearly he stayed longer and won a lot more at Manchester United.

He is here today working for TV and the United fans are singing a song in honour of the club's record goalscorer.

    Watch out in row z!

Manchester United, to be fair, do look the sharper on the break as Alejandro Garnacho cuts back for Bruno Fernandes.

The United captain is leaning very far back though and spoons the ball well over.

Everton had enough chances inside the first five minutes to be 2 up; United looked shaky. Then Everton go and concede a really sloppy pen. Architects, downfall.

    Man Utd 1-0 Everton

Since their last Premier League win, Everton have only scored once on more than one occasion.

Usually I'd say it might be a long afternoon for the Toffees, but Man Utd are still so open the visitors are deffo still in this.

Beto is flagged for offside to bring an end to their latest attack.

For a player of James Tarkowski's experience, that was poor.

Alejandro Garnacho had no option other than to cut inside and you would have thought the Everton skipper would have been ready for it.

Instead, he swiped at the ball, missed it and caught Garnacho on the leg.

I am not sure it was worth the fall and squeal that accompanied it but it was definitely a penalty.

    Even Sean Dyche didn't complain.

    Man Utd 1-0 Everton

    Almost 1-1!

The Manchester United fans are still jittery as Everton's Dwight McNeil slices a volley narrowly wide. The chance, again, comes from United giving the ball away.

  16. 'Wonderful finish'published at 12:44 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

    Man Utd 1-0 Everton

    Izzy Christiansen
Former Everton and England midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

Absolutely brilliant from United's captain. Dispatched into the bottom corner to Pickford's left he rolls it into the back of the net.

It's always the sign of a good penalty when the ball rolls up the back netting, smoothly does it. A wonderful finish.

GOAL - Man Utd 1-0 Evertonpublished at 12:41 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

    Bruno Fernandes (12 mins)

Everton keeper Jordan Pickford goes the right way....

....but Bruno Fernandes' penalty is right in the corner.

Against the run of play, Manchester United go in front.

Quick VAR check for offside, but the decision stands. It's a pen.

  19. PENALTY TO MAN UTDpublished at 9 mins

    Man Utd 0-0 Everton

    Easy call.

Manchester United break and Marcus Rashford feeds Alejandro Garnacho on the overlap. The youngster cuts back inside but his standing leg is wiped out by James Tarkowski.
