It needs a wonder goal or a forced mistake or anything just to give Newcastle some hope.

Ahhh that would've been an opportunity for Newcastle.

Lovely ball over the top from Bruno Guimaraes, Alexander Isak lays it off for Dan Burn but the defender opts to give it back to Isak instead of shoot and it's just ahead of the Sweden striker.

He should've had a go himself.

A bit sloppy again. There's a lot of deflections there. A deflected cross, then a miss-kick, then Gvardiol's shot takes a deflection. Poor defending from Botman.

Oh dear, Newcastle make a bit of a hash of trying to clear Bernardo Silva's cross.

It drops for Josko Gvardiol whose shot takes another deflection and flies out for a corner.

It is a breakaway from Newcastle and that's arguably where City are most dangerous with City in their half. Haaland was unlucky there.

Erling Haaland picks up the ball from Mateo Kovacic in the middle of the park and drives forward.

He strikes low and hard with his left foot but it clips the outside of the post. Unlucky.

Great save, great move. Really, really positive again from Doku. It's a great save from Dubravka's left hand. So inventive, so creative, he's so hard to play against.

Manchester City have started this half much the same as the first ended, dominating possession and creating chances.

Lovely bit of one-two between Phil Foden and Jeremy Doku and the Belgian fires towards the far corner from the left-hand side, forcing Martin Dubravka into a good save.
