It should be two for Dortmund! Brilliant, sweeping football again from the men in yellow, Julian Brandt firing in a low shot from the right of the area which Walter Benitez beats out. It falls straight to Donyell Malen though, and his follow-up is somehow kept out by the feet of the keeper.

Huge chance.

Another good opportunity. Morata finds himself free and Bastoni does really well by doing nothing.

If he makes a touch there it either goes in his net or causes a real problem for his goalkeeper.

That's really good defending to not do anything.

Inter almost score with their first attack of the game. Hakan Calhanoglu sends Denzel Dumfries away down the right, he flies into the box and forces a save from Jan Oblak from an angle.

That chance on the break just shows the pace that they have. Thuram was pushing oi the right and Dimarco was in so much space on the left.

The pass was poor but it just shows the threat they have on the break.

When Dortmund play like this they are a force to behold, it's so rapid, the heavy metal football of old. Jadon Sancho finds Donyell Malen on the right, he whips it across first time and Niclas Fullkrug fires wide on the stretch.

Referee Daniele Orsato has had to stop the play twice already for getting in the way of play. Is that very good positioning or really bad?

Atletico want a penalty for a handball against Marcus Thuram but the ball was just knocked onto his arm from close range by a team-mate so it's not given.

Brazil's Samuel Lino is having a very lively game down the left for Atletico. He does very well to keep in an overhit cross from the far side but it just ends up as a throw-in.

Jadon Sancho is a man reborn, shimmying inside from the left and beating two men before flinging in a dangerous cross towards Niclas Fullkrug which PSV just about deal with. They are up against it big time in these opening stages.

They have started the game well with the best chance so far being that Lino chance down the left.

Inter are trying to get back in it and have some of the ball. Atletico Madrid haven't given them a chance to breath so far.

That's the start that Simeone would have wanted to see. You think Lino should have hit that and he hangs it up and Inter can clear.
