    Ding ding!

Two rounds down and Nico Rosberg is up on points but if there is anything you can be sure of in Formula 1, it is that Lewis Hamilton will come back fighting.

Now we head to China in a fortnight with a few questions left to be answered.

Can Nico Rosberg continue his winning run?

What will the qualifying format be in Shanghai?

What on earth will Lewis Hamilton wear to the paddock this time?

That's all from us. Have a gander at Andrew Benson's race report here and until next time, goodbye.

  2. Alonso back for China?published at 18:54 British Summer Time 3 April 2016

Fernando Alonso won't have liked having to watch that race from the garage and he will be desperate to be back in the McLaren in China.

He has just posted this picture and comment on his instagram page: "It was an interesting weekend from another point of view. Always useful to learn other things. See you in China, stronger than ever.."

Kimi Raikkonen seems to like the Bahrain desert - this was his eighth podium finish in Sakhir since it hosted its first grand prix in 2004.

The Finn actually retired after seven laps of that inaugural race too. Since then his results have been as follows (not forgetting he was absent from F1 in 2010 and 2011 - and there was no Bahrain GP in 2011):

    2005: 3rd

    2006: 3rd

    2007: 3rd

    2008: 2nd

    2009: 6th

    2012: 2nd

    2013: 2nd

    2014: 10th

    2015: 2nd

    2016: 2nd

Still waiting for a win though...

Who to give the driver of the day award to? So many good performances today.

Lewis Hamilton deserves a mention for his recovery drive but then there is Romain Grosjean getting a quite frankly unbelievable fifth for Haas. That's on the back of sixth in Australia. A podium next?

Then, of course, there is Stoffel Vandoorne - 10th in his first-ever race. What a result.

Third-placed Lewis Hamilton says his slow getaway was not caused by the same issue he had in Melbourne.

He says: "Two separate incidents, both equally painful - perhaps today more painful. Again, damage limitation. Congratulations to Nico.

"The team was hoping that potentially there would be a safety car. I had so much damage to the car, I couldn't fight with Kimi."

Podium interviewer David Coulthard asks him about him arriving in traditional Bahrain dress today and Hamilton is full of compliments for the locals, as ever.

"I've got some incredible support here. A big thanks to the Crown Prince."
