I think we can assume the incident in question was the moment Hamilton went on team radio to say "These drivers are just so dangerous, man..."

Likely to be a penalty from race director, Charlie Whiting for Nico Hulkenberg.

  4. 'We can do better'published at 17:51 British Summer Time 14 April 2017

Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel: I think Mercedes looked stronger earlier today but we were just lucky to recover after our issue. Overall I think we did okay but we can do better.

We had some sort of glitch - all of a sudden everything went dark. Thankfully there was no lasting damage and we can fix it. Nowadays cars are not just cars - it's technology and software so it seems like something went wrong there.

Red Bull team principal Christian Horner is speaking to Sky Sports about the incident regarding Verstappen running over Valtteri Bottas' t-wing, causing them to have to change the floor of his car:

"Ban them. Get rid of them. People think it's just sour grapes because we aren't running one but actually they are dangerous and they need looking at".

There will be concerns over Ferrari's reliability. The encouraging news for them is that on those couple of laps in FP2 Kimi Raikkonen was able to better Lewis Hamilton's times. Raikkonen also has a good record here.

Mercedes chief Toto Wolff on BBC Radio 5 live being asked about the competitive practice times and Lewis Hamilton being fifth quickest:

"[On a tight top three] That's how it should be. [Regarding Hamilton] It's Friday. Tomorrow the lap time counts. On Sunday we'll score the points. Lewis has some traffic and aborted the first two attempts."

Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton are on the same tyres but Hamilton is significantly quicker. Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo is within a tenth of second of Hamilton.

His team-mate Max Verstappen is quicker than anybody on super softs.

"Okay we are just *messing* around in traffic" is the message from Sebastian Vettel...

    He didn't say "messing".

He is coming up right behind Valtteri Bottas here - anyone going to tell him they aren't racing here?

Daniel Ricciardo has been plugging away and has recorded a respectable 23 laps...
