That was an outstanding session from Hamilton. Mercedes have given him the equipment and he has the focus. He will do any interview you want this afternoon.

Lewis Hamilton hitches a lift off the safety car to head down to Turn 2 for the post-qualifying interviews.
1) Hamilton 2) Vettel 3) Bottas 4) Raikkonen 5) Verstappen 6) Ricciardo 7) Massa 8) Perez 9) Ocon 10) Hulkenberg
That's Lewis Hamilton's 65th career pole position, moving him level with Ayrton Senna.
How fitting that one of the best pole laps of his career equaled his hero's record.
What a lap. Sensational.
Lewis Hamilton secures pole position for the Canadian Grand Prix!
And it's a scrappy lap by Sebastian Vettel, he can't beat Lewis Hamilton's time!
And Lewis Hamilton improves! A 1:11.459 to go three tenths clear of Sebastian Vettel.
Over to you, Sebastian...
Hamilton is up by a tenth of a second in the first sector...

AADZ: Just wow! #vettel, external & #hamilton, external putting on a show in Montreal #CanadianGP, external#f1, external#bbcf1, external exciting race ahead tomorrow
Lewis Hamilton is back out on the track with two minutes to go. Sebastian Vettel still in the pits so there's going to be quite the gap between Hamilton doing his flying lap and Vettel completing his.

Vettel will have another set of tyres. He will get into the pit as quick as possible, do a quick change and try and wrestle the pole away from Hamilton.
How close is this!? Sebastian Vettel cuts the timing beam just four thousandths of a second down on Lewis Hamilton.
He is straight into the pits for a fresh set of ultra-softs ready for another crack at snatching pole position.
This isn't over yet.
Maybe this isn't the bag. Vettel is up on Lewis Hamilton in the first sector...

Right now, I would like to be a fly on the wall in the Ferrari garage to hear the conversation between the drivers and engineers. I think they will have been rocked by that lap from Hamilton.
Surely Lewis Hamilton has this in the bag? Valtteri Bottas needs to find four tenths of a second to beat him while Sebastian Vettel needs more than six tenths.
After those first runs the order looks like this:
1) Hamilton 2) Bottas 3) Raikkonen 4) Vettel 5) Verstappen 6) Ricciardo 7) Massa 8) Perez 9) Ocon 10) Hulkenberg

Rachel T: WHOOOAAAHHH LEWIS!!! WHAT A LAP FROM THE MASTER OF MONTREAL!!
Valtteri Bottas slots in P2, four tenths down on his team-mate while Kimi Raikkonen is third, 0.5s off the pace.
First blood to Mercedes.

Stunning lap from Hamilton. He hooked round every one of the 14 corners. A blinding lap. By the far the quickest of this weekend.
Where did this come from! Lewis Hamilton slams in a stunner of a lap to go SIX TENTHS quicker than Sebastian Vettel with a 1:11.791!
Toto Wolff is loving that, huge smile on his face as he watches on the screens.
