It has very much been Lewis Hamilton's day so far. He's tootling along quite contently out in front three seconds ahead of Max Verstappen.

However, he will never truly feel comfortably with the young Dutchman behind him and feeling racey.

Sebastian Vettel will not be including Max Verstappen in his round in the post-race drinks later.

Replays show it was the left rear of the Red Bull that clattered into Vettel's front wing at the start, loosening it before part of it fell away later in the race.

If Vettel wants to baby those new tyres, then he MAY be able to make it to the end of the race but if not, he has essentially ruled himself out of contention.

Kimi Raikkonen is the meat in a Force India sandwich and he ain't happy about that. He is sixth and tries to muscle his way past Sergio Perez but ends up smooching the wall, kicking up a load of dirt and dust as he does so.

Ferrari having a shocker so far.

    That all happened so quickly!

I just saw a cloud of dust - both Carlos Sainz and Felipe Massa are both out literally within 200 metres of the start line.

That was huge impact but fortunately the crash structures have done their job and allowed Carlos Sainz to walk away un-hurt.

Looking at replays it looks like Carlos Sainz got tagged by a Haas and he pinballed into Felipe Massa's Williams, sending them both spinning off the track.

    Safety car is out.
