Sara Turle: All over for Leclerc. Puncture. Credit to him. Gave it a go.

Amit Mandalia: At least Leclerc can get his lap back and catch the back of the pack under the safety car

Josh Earle: disaster for Leclerc, from bad to worse in his home Grand Prix

Rachel T: Bit daft from Leclerc but who can really blame him?

Alex Lloyd: That must have been an unsafe release from Red Bull. They threw Verstappen’s car straight into Valterri’s

I can tell you, it's a suspected puncture for Bottas. That's why they changed again so quickly.

Right, a quick recap of that carnage...

    • Leclerc gets past Grosjean, the pair bump tyres. Grosjean calls the move 'kamikaze'
    • Leclerc tries the same move a lap later on Nico Hulkenberg. This time the pair collide, Leclerc spins and rips his tyre apart.
    • The Monaco man limps his car back to the pits, losing a full lap, and, at the moment, is still in the race
    • Under safety car, most cars come in for a pit stop
    • Max Verstappen nearly crashes into Valtteri Bottas as they come out of the pits
    • Bottas suffers a puncture on that lap and on the next lap has to come in again for his second stop in two laps

    And breathe...

Bottas, for the second time in two laps, is in the pits. A change of strategy for him and Mercedes as he gets out on the hard tyres after a suspected puncture when he and Verstappen nearly hit each other.

Jack: "Really swift pit stop by the Red Bull team but Mercedes aren't going to be impressed."

Jolyon: "That could be an unsafe release by Red Bull, and Bottas bunched up the pack so much and I'm not sure that's allowed either. The stewards will be interested in that."

Both Verstappen and Bottas come in for a pit stop. Surely it's an unsafe release as the pair are, so, so close to each other.

"He pushed me into the wall," says Bottas.

Verstappen gets back on the track first, meaning he is now second. For the time being at least?

Leclerc gets back to the pits, after basically holding up everyone behind him in a desperate attempt to stay in. The tyre has absolutely gone, there is nothing left of it. The tyre gets changed, but surely he can't finish this race.

It's over for Leclerc, and the rubber is peeling off the rim of the tyre he's in the tunnel and he's got a whole queue behind him. He tries to keep out of the racing line but he can't do anything.

YES this is overtaking in Monaco and this is what we need to see. You can never have the safest of moves here but Leclerc has been showing a nose and he did it.

Leclerc has had enough of waiting for his chance. He sends it in at Rascasse and just about edges past Romain Grosjean. The pair bang wheels, but no real harm done.
