If you're still interested, Lewis Hamilton is now 13 seconds clear of Max Verstappen, 17 ahead of Leclerc and 20 of Bottas at the front.

Hulkenberg has had a brilliant stint here and he may well end up jumping the lot of them if he pits at the end of this lap now. He's got a change of a really strong result here in his own battle.

    Lap 20/55

Hulkenberg, after having some last race fun out in fourth at one stage, realises he has to come into pits with DRS making him an easy target. He comes back out in 13th aiming to end in the points.

    Lap 19/55

As expected, with DRS back enabled, Nico Hulkenberg is an absolute sitting duck. There goes Bottas; Vettel and Albon will surely follow soon.

It stopped working for a bit, but now DRS is back.

    Lap 18/55

Vettel dives the inside of Bottas, the Finn holds off the attack and then holds position on the straight. A good attempt from Vettel but he can't make it stick. That's for fifth on track by the way.

    DRS technical issues #bbcf1

Christopher Whitton: While it’s nice to see some good old-fashioned overtaking without DRS, it’s fortunate this track allows for that. Some tracks, it’s hard enough to overtake with DRS. Without it, it may well be impossible to even get close. Some of the track choices need to be looked at.

Ranting MrP: No DRS... Perfect. Let's see who can really drive without assistance!

    Lap 17/55

Nico Hulkenberg is leading a train of cars, with Bottas, Vettel and Albon all being held up / frustrated by the Renault man.

Good news for the front three though of Hamilton, Verstappen and Leclerc.

  10. Postpublished at 13:40 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2019

Since he doesn't have a seat in Formula 1 next year, Nico Hulkenberg is going for it in fourth. Yet to stop.

    Go on Nico!

    Lap 16/55

Valtteri Bottas, by the way, has stormed through the field just as we expected he would. Started 20th, now fifth. Far too easy.

Right, this has been a dull 15 laps. You have 40 laps of the season left, let's make it good, OK.

Woah big lock-up for Sebastian Vettel. I don't know how this double stacking for Ferrari is working out - not well because his pitstop took seven seconds.

    Lap 14/55

Vettel instantly locks up his front left, that's not what he needs with him expecting to go the distance on these tyres.

Leclerc gets away nicely from the pits, but it all goes wrong for Sebastian Vettel's stop. He is in the box for an agonising 6.9 seconds thanks to a stubborn front left tyre. Oh dear.

    DRS technical issues #bbcf1

JJ Jackson: Re DRS, didn't Michael Schumacher have to retire from a race when his DRS got stuck open?

Yes you're right, JJ. It was the Canadian Grand Prix in 2012 were the seven-time world champion was forced to retire due to a broken DRS system.
