    DRS technical issues #bbcf1

Michael Penny: Tin foil hat time but is DRS technical issue a cunning plan to see what happened with a view to getting rid or improve it?

Philip West: I like this DRS-less style of racing. It’s old school. Forces the drivers to actually use skill to overtake, rather than a driving aid. More, please!

    Lap 9/55

Pirelli said the pit stop window would be open from lap seven for those changing from softs.

Lando Norris is the first to come in for a non-crash related stop on lap nine. He leaves on hards and McLaren will be hoping to not see him again until after the race.

Hamilton leads Abu Dhabi GP #bbcf1

Amit Mandalia: Even the DRS thinks the season has gone on too long and has had enough.

Chris: If Ferrari think a Leclerc DSQ is likely, should they use him tactically to back Verstappen up into Vettel and then let Seb past?

Jeremiah Kariuki: Dominance and procession has started. Only midfield where we are possibly going to see some action and hard racing

That makes Valtteri Bottas' task of working his way through the field a bit trickier, although he is far too good and far too quick for Lance Stroll and the Finn is already up to 13th from 20th at the start.
