Ferrari's Charles Leclerc decided that enough was enough after coming back to the pits. He is in the back of the garage looking very hot and sweaty.

The McLarens are providing my favourite moments of the race so far as this time Carlos Sainz puts in some top-notch defending to keep a swarming Alex Albon at bay.

There's a few more second stops as Lance Stroll and Pierre Gasly head in.

    Leclerc suffers engine problems

    Daniel: Charles, you spoilsport.

AGL: It just gets worse and worse for Ferrari, Leclerc was the only horse in the race for them and then that happens. What a shame.

Jeremiah: Charles Leclerc almost bringing out the Safety Car. But that was the only hope for Ferrari to score decent points. Vettel with his struggles is not the only hope may be for a point or a couple. Tough day for the red cars.

Valtteri Bottas was making Max Verstappen nervous so he pits for the second time and once again it is a fantastic stop as the Red Bull pit crew get him back out in two seconds. He's back out on fresh mediums in third.

The focus has to be Valtteri Bottas for Max Verstappen. The Dutchman does not have the pace or tyre life to fight for the lead, but he has track position over Bottas.

  7. Postpublished at 41/66

Valtteri Bottas is the fastest man on the track and he's a couple of seconds behind by Max Verstappen but is gaining on the Red Bull with every lap.

We have so much more talk about rain than actual precipitation itself this season.

Disaster for Charles Leclerc! The engine cuts out and he spins. He gets it going but that's his race massively, massively compromised.

Daniel Ricciardo, 36 laps in, makes his first stop of the race as he moves on to softs. He 's back out in 12th.

  17. Rain incomingpublished at 15:04 British Summer Time 16 August 2020

    Jennie Gow
BBC Radio 5 live pit-lane reporter

There is a large cloud gathering around the turn four area. We weren't expecting rain, but we might have a bit.

Pirelli say that there is no way that Max Verstappen will have to do a two-stopper, there is no way that the medium he is on will last out 45 laps in total to the end of the race.

  18. Postpublished at 35/66

Hmmmmm, is that rain on the horizon?

Max Verstappen points out it is getting quite dark at Turn 4 and there are definitely some moody looking clouds loitering.

  19. Postpublished at 34/66

Superb battle between between Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris!

Leclerc is sweeping left and right all over the back of Norris but the McLaren is not giving the Ferrari an inch.

Superb defending by Norris as he holds onto 11th.
