    Kuchar, Mickelson, Stenson tee off

The big guns keep on rolling.on to the iconic first tee. Howls of "Kooooooch" tell us that popular American Matt Kuchar is pegging up on the first, moments after his Ryder Cup team-mate Phil Mickelson. Sweden's Henrik Stenson - fancied to lead the European charge - completes a three-ball that leaves television producers drooling. All three men find the middle of fairway, leaving - ahem - simple pitches.

    Woods (+4 after 16)

Tiger Woods' worst ever round at The Open at St Andrews was as an amateur in 1995, he carded a 78. He is on 68 with two holes to go. That humiliation should just about be spared...

  4. Fowler tees off at 14:45 BSTpublished at 14:41

American Rickie Fowler, who tees off at 14:45, speaking to BBC Two: "Obviously I played well last week which gave me some confidence coming into the Open. I know there is some rough weather predicted which will make it tough. To win it would be a dream come true, but there's a long way to go and some great golfers here."

"I just want to start better than last time," says Rickie Fowler, who opened with a 79 when he last played the old course in 2010.

Fowler's start that day proved costly as good subsequent rounds saw him finish tied 14th and the 26-year-old also started badly at the recent US Open.

But no player can claim to be better prepared for the Open Championship than Fowler, who was crowned Scottish Open champion on Sunday. "The game feels very good right now, and I'm comfortable with links golf and ready for the challenge," he added.

    How bad do you dress?

With John Daly taking golf fashion to new levels on the course, we want to know what your golf wardrobe is like?

Thanks for the tweet Shane, these fall under the 'dubious' category for us. With the right shirt you'd look superb, with the wrong one you'd look anything but.

  7. A new clubhouse leaderpublished at 14:38

    Johnson (-7 after 18)

We have a new clubhouse leader. Dustin Johnson makes par on 18 and finishes with a seven-under par 67. Paul Lawrie, who was joint leader drops a shot on 17.

    Spieth (-5 after 18)

Did anyone ever doubt him? Jordan Spieth rams one into the centre of the hole from about 15 feet for birdie on 18. A great reaction to dropping as a couple of shots on the back nine as he moves back to five under. The treble is still on.

    Woods (+4), Oosthuizen (-4), Day (-6)

The glamour is oozing out of the Road Hole now. Well, in name at least. Jason Day sprays one left off the 17th tee...into the thick stuff. "Don't follow him, don't follow him," Tiger Woods mutters to himself. He follows him. But the world number 214's ball skids to an end just short of big trouble. Louis Oosthuizen, the last man to win the Open at St Andrews in 2010, shows them the way - down the middle from the South African, who is four under par.

    Spieth (-4 after 17)

Jordan Spieth got away with one there. The American sent his tee shot a long way left on 18 but ended up quite nicely in the middle of the first fairway. He lands his approach plum on the green and has a chance for birdie.

    Lawrie (-7 after 16)

One group behind Dustin Johnson is his co-leader Paul Lawrie. The Scot takes a moment as playing partners Kevin Kisner and Ryan Palmer show him the way towards the 17th dancefloor.

The 1999 Open champion goes short of the infamous Road Hole bunker, then neatly lops a juicy chip within a sinkable par putt.

    Triple bogey

Matteo Manassero has done a Shane Lowry and had a 17th hole so bad he will have nightmares tonight.

The Italian was ticking along nicely at two under but a seven on the penultimate hole hits his card like a wrecking ball.

Back to one over par for you dear boy. St Andrews owned you there.

    Howell (-5 after 14)

Remember when Swindon's David Howell was top of the European money list in the mid 2000s? Well, he is showing a bit of form again as he rolls in for birdie on 14.Joint sixth for Howeller.

Meanwhile Jordan Spieth is in real trouble off the tee on 18. He is miles left...

    Spieth (-4 after 17)

Jordan Spieth can't save par as he rolls his putt from about 10 feet wide off the hole, after finding sand with his second. Six birdies on the first 11 holes have been followed by two bogeys. He is human.

    Johnson (-7 after 17)

Brilliant from Dustin Johnson on 17. He looks in trouble with a long putt to save par but, confident as you like, straight down the middle and on he goes. He keeps the joint lead.

    Garcia (70)

A grimace from Sergio Garcia on the 18th green and a ruffle of his thinning hair. The Spaniard isn't best pleased after pushing his birdie putt on the last. But three blobs of birdie-coloured red on his scorecard, dampened by just one bogey blackspot, means he is back in the locker room with a two-under-par round of 70 in his pocket.

    Spieth (-5 after 16)

So, Spieth from the bunker on 17. He faces a big lip but has no problems as he flops his wedge onto the green and within 10 feet. Chance to save par.

    Westwood (-1 after 18)

Lee Westwood walks off the 18th with a furrowed brow. The Englishman was well in contention before hitting three bogeys in a row on the last three holes. His putter lets him down on 18 as he pushes one past to drop to one under. It could and should have been so much better.
