    Fitzpatrick (-1 after 2), Horschel (-2 after 2)

I make it 15 players in total out on the course right now. In less than half an hour we will see Ian Poulter, Branden Grace, Bubba Watson and Jason Day.

As things stand Billy Horschel is two under in total after two holes having dropped an early stroke. Sheffield's 21-year-old Matt Fitzpatrick is strolling these fairways with his baby face relaxed as he makes two early pars to stay one under.

    The view from Augusta

What a week it must be to work for the Augusta Chronicle. It must be pretty sweet having Augusta National located a short drive from home.

Their editorial team didn't have to think too hard for a headline this morning as the unflappable Texan did their work for them.

    Who will miss the weekend?

The top end of the leaderboard jostle for position, the bottom end simply scrap to make the cut, which comes at the end of today's play.

For England's Andy Sullivan, Ernie 'Snakes in the Brain' Els and Rickie Fowler, there's a heap of work to do on eight over.

Welcome to day two of the Masters

Rory McIlroy gave chase on day one, clattered into a few hurdles in the shape of four bogeys, but somehow stayed in contention.

He called his round a "little disappointing" but the only major he is yet to claim is still on. He can make up the four shots to Jordan Spieth in one hole.... just ask Ernie Els.

Throw in Ireland's Shane Lowry, England's Danny Willett, plus Justin Rose and Ian Poulter, and we have a lovely pack assembled behind Spieth on six under.

We did try to get President Obama to use his position as leader of the free world to declare an afternoon off for us all, sadly his line was engaged.

So we'll do it our way and focus in to see if 88 men in the field can catch a man doing things his own way.

Mr Jordan Spieth, you are a sledgehammer to Augusta records, we salute you but boy oh boy is there a stellar cast on your coattails this week.

We know your tricks when we run these live texts. We know you're reading in work when the boss isn't looking.

It's Friday, it's 2pm, we give you permission to down tools. This is an immediate order - down tools.
