This course is meltdown central. Someone has to win it. Right now the play is looking more like what you'd expect to see on your local municipal.
Speaking of poor play...
Johnson -4 (6), Lowry -5 (5), Landry +1 (5)
Shane Lowry is going to drop at least one shot you'd think, so Dustin Johnson's putt from the fringe on six is now critical. Good pace, it breaks left to right and leaves less than a foot for par. Johnson is four under, what will Lowry be in a minute or two?
Here comes the leader, left hand below right grip. A big swing as he's so far away, it's racing, it's racing and it goes away to leave eight feet for bogey. If he misses this the lead will be tied at four under. Lowry addresses the ball cautiously, a slight waggles to settle in, well done indeed. Gutsy.
Andrew Landry, alongside Lowry, is keeping this feel of trouble flowing between the pair as his par putt from seven feet or so is wide.
Garcia -1 (7), Lowry -6 (4)
Sergio Garcia has a long putt across the seventh green for birdie, it's a monster and doesn't take the break he wants from left to right. That will leave eight feet for par.
And then on the fifth we see a big moment as Shane Lowry makes a hash of his shot from the bunker, he's in the rough some 60ft off the putting surface and his pitch leaves 50ft or so down a horrid hill for par.
Back to Garcia for par on seven... no. They are all offering the US Open up suddenly.
Lowry -6 (4), Westwood +3 (5)
Still, you get the sense there is something in the air here. Shane Lowry hits the bunker on five and this is a nasty par four so he's brought a possible bogey into play here.
I still cannot believe what Lee Westwood has served up. Yet again he has faltered. A colleague says maybe he needs half a lager before the final round of majors to take the edge off.
The poor guy is now tied for 15th. I feel for him, it's sad to see.

"He hadn't addressed the ball, and as he hadn't grounded the club, the rules official has said he can play the ball from where it moved to, as he didn't cause the ball to move."
Lesson over.
Johnson -4 (5)
We have some drama on the fifth green as Dustin Johnson's ball moves before he strikes it.
"I didn't address the ball," he says quickly. That of course means he will not face a penalty. His playing partner Lee Westwood confirms this.
Our leader Shane Lowry of course called a one-shot penalty on himself for the same thing earlier in the week.
Johnson is met by an official who gives him the green light. He putts, it's in... par. Should have been birdie.
The Church Pews bunker is quite simply a beast.
It used to be eight bunkers before a bunker reduction program in the 1920s consolidated them into one.
It sits between the third and fourth fairways at Oakmont, awaiting hooked drives from either tee.
The good news is that everyone has now played the third and fourth holes, so the players can concentrate on the challenging pin positions instead.
Westwood +3 (5), Landry E (4)
There are two men on the course who will be crying into their pillows tonight, they are Andrew Landry and Lee Westwood.
Westy has thrown the towel in has he? From the bunker on five he leaves a nasty chip, then a 20ft putt, now a five foot putt. This will be for bogey and another dropped shot, no, make that a double.
Landry misses a par putt from five feet and takes bogey. Ugly, ugly stuff.
Koepka +4 (68)
After 11 holes of his final round Brooks Koepka was hunting down Johnny Miller's course record seven-under 63, set in 1973 when he came from six shots back to win the US Open at Oakmont.
Six birdies and an eagle, after two early bogeys had him at six under for his round and back to level par.
However, the closing holes have not been quite so kind to the American. Four successive bogeys from the 14th has dropped him back to four over. A par at the last but a proper rollercoaster of a round.

Johnson -4 (4)
Dustin Johnson just wants to land a blow on Shane Lowry here, he wants to jab at him to let him know he's game.
That's how he will do it. A wedge on the fifth is perfect, spin, grip, it rolls back down to the hole and that leaves three feet for birdie. The lead could be cut to one here.
DJ finally gets the wedge game right on the fifth.
Day +1 (6)
Jason Day is making pars at a time where pars just will not do. Through six holes an early bogey and birdie have been met with steady efforts.

Westwood +1 (4)
Lee Westwood's short comings over the years have often been put down to putting when the heat is on. Those three footers look like 30 footers when you're playing down the stretch.
This week Westy is second in the putting ranks, averaging 1.57 putts.
Worryingly though he is getting worse as the days go on as his putts per round has risen each day since Thursday.
It's all going wrong, he's in the bunker on five.
Johnson -4 (4)
An expletive from Dustin Johnson on the fifth tee. Now then Dustin, we cannot have any of that. Why is he swearing anyway? It's in the fairway on this par four.
Garcia -2 (6), Westwood +1 (4)
Lee Westwood is in for bogey on the fourth, a tap in after a good read on his putt from range. Little consolation I guess as that's three dropped shots in as many holes.
Sergio Garcia is showing real touch right now and his putt on the par-three sixth snakes around the cup to leave a few inches for par. That was full 25ft or more so he'll take that.
Sergio will stay two under. I think four under wins this.

"I'm afraid we have seen this before with Lee. Numerous times he has got himself into a good position at the end of round three, but come the final day, he just hasn't got the tactics right and yet again, it looks to be going wrong. It looks like it's going to be three bogies in a row. Westwood is capitulating."
