McIlroy -2 (17)
Rory McIlroy out with the driver on 18 and he heaves that down the right side of the fairway. It's on the short stuff and that's all that matters.
Willett +4, Day +1m Fowler -1 (18)
Danny Willett has to get this putt to make the cut.
And he gets it. Par. cool as you like.
He did not make life easy for himself but it's a weekend stay at Troon for the Masters champion.
Jason Day also finishes with a par and the world number one will be back tomorrow.
Rickie Fowler ends the day on one-under for the Championship.
Watson +5 (17)
Bubba Watson hit a high floater from the off the back of the 17th but he can only find the middle of the green, some 25 feet from the pin. His par putt stays up so it's bogey for Bubba.
He now needs a birdie on the 18th to reach the weekend, otherwise it's back home to Baghdad, Florida for the American.
McIlroy -2 (17)
Rory McIlroy has a lengthy birdie attempt on 17 to get to three under. He needs this, but it pulls up just short.
He takes par and he is on to the 18th.
Stricker E (18)
Steve Stricker, for so long a model of consistency, 14 pars in the row and he had one of the cleanest cards out there.
But a quadruple bogey on the 15th ruined things.
He regains his composure to finish par, par, par.
Willett +4, Day +1 (17)
Danny Willett needing par on the 18th and he sends it left into the bunker.
Jason Day smacks his tee shot to the right, into what looks like a TV compound.
McIlroy -2, Watson +4 (16)
Rory McIlroy on the par three 17th.
215 yards to the hole and the four-time major winner plants it bang in the middle of the green.
Bubba Watson's turn next and the left-hander sends it loooooong, way over the hole.
That won't improve his mood.
Remember Watson is right on the cut line on +4.
Willett +4 (17)
Par for Danny Willett on the 17th.
The Masters champion just needs a par on the last to make it through to the weekend.
McIlroy -2 (16)
That is just what the doctor ordered.
A birdie for Rory McIlroy on the 16th takes him to two-under.
The wind seems to have died down and that could open the door to a few players on the march back to the clubhouse.
Gay +8
Day +1 (16)
Where is the world number one? Well, he's down in tied 41st at one over after bogeying the 16th.
Jason Day started the round with a bogey, but four birdies in five holes looked to have him on a charge towards the top.
That slowed following the turn, and two bogeys have since followed...
Jordan Spieth will not be the only one studying the leaderboard over the next hour or so.
Scotland's Colin Montgomerie must surely have thought his race was run when he posted a 75 for a four-over total earlier this afternoon.
And as I write this, Matteo Manassero bogeys the 13th to drop to four over par and that instantly puts the projected cut out to +4.
Don't head to the airport just yet Jordan...
Rose +3 (18)
Justin Rose double bogeys to finish and because of that moves to three over, putting him on the cusp of missing that cut.
It was a disappointing round from the Englishman, shooting six over and carding two double bogeys. He was three under heading into Friday's action, but drops 47 places.
Spieth +4 (18), Rose +3 (18)
Jordan Spieth finds the front left of the green, the pin is front right so he's going to have a 25-footer for birdie.
But first it's Justin Rose from the sand. He goes high and long and the ball trickles back off a slope and comes to a rest five feet beyond the pin.
Spieth is stalking his putt. He's looked from behind the ball, behind the cup, from the side. He's down on his haunches again behind the ball. Finally, he strides up and addresses it. The ball is on its way but it never looks like it's going to drop.
The American takes off his hat, a bit of a sigh. That's a four-over 75 and four over total. It could still be enough.
How's your luck Justin? Nope, a double-bogey finish for Justin and a six-over 77 but at three over he'll definitely be playing tomorrow.
McIlroy -1 Watson +4 (15)
Rory McIlroy has a long putt, slightly right to left, but he doesn't put enough on it and instead takes the par.
Bubba Watson steps up on the green and confidently strokes in for a par of his own, and he's smiling again after that little outburst on the way up.
Rose +1 (17)
Justin Rose found a fairway bunker on the 18th and ended up in a horrible position, right up against the face, so he takes his punishment with a chip out sideways onto the short stuff.
He's still behind Jordan Spieth so knocks his third into the slate grey sky and plummets into a greenside bunker. He needs to get up and down for a bogey and a five-over 76.
Watson +4 (14)
Bubba Watson is furious with that one, "no way" he shouts after punching it low along the 15th towards the flag. "I can't hit that any better," he adds, after not getting the break.
He pulled a birdie back on the last, but is faced with a difficult lie to build on that at the 15th.
Spieth +4 (17)
So, maybe a par will be enough after all for Jordan Spieth. He bangs his drive on 18 down the right-hand side of the fairway. He's in a decent spot. Can he find the dancefloor with his second?
