Day with a bit of a stiff chip at three, he's got 15 feet or so for par. Stenson's just not hitting his putts at the moment, another birdie attempt comes up well short at four. We think Walker has found trouble off the tee at three...

  2. Grace -10published at 20:43

Kaymer one under through three, here's England's Paul Casey birdieing the 14th to get to -5. Day can't bend his second enough, will have to chip and putt for par. Walker just misses with his birdie effort at two, but stays two clear. Scratch that, Branden Grace has birdied 13 to get to 10 under...

The greens and fairways are soft, which means when hittings the fairway, balls will stop. Players will find great scoring conditions.

There is potential of a first 62 in a major but there is added pressure of a major on the final day, Henrik Stenson did it two weeks ago at Royal Troon though (when he finished with a 63 to win).

  4. Day stumbles out of the blockspublished at 20:37

Koepka just misses with a birdie putt at four, stays two off the lead. Day on tee at three, and he's hooked it into trouble. Not a convincing start from the defending champion. Walker with a birdie chance at two after a sweet approach, great scrambling from Kaymer at three... long-range birdie from Spieth at six, moves to -4. Stenson doesn't hit his birdie attempt at three...

  5. Kaymer makes a movepublished at 20:32

Day for birdie at the second, leaves it short. Walker bangs in his par putt at the first to stay two clear of the field. McGirt has hit an awful putt at six, ramming a three-footer about four feet past. Kaymer picked up a birdie at two to get to five under.

Day has made a hash of the first and can only make bogey, drops to nine under, meaning Walker leads by two. Stenson from the fairway at two... birdie chance... By the way, that was Day's first bogey for 29 holes...

  9. Will Walker win?published at 20:19 British Summer Time 31 July 2016

    -11 J Walker

Jimmy Walker is aiming to become just the seventh player to win the US PGA Championship after leading, or being in a share of the lead for the first three rounds.

The last man to achieve that in this tournament was Tiger Woods, in 2000.

Walker is not a bad front runner - the 37-year-old has won three of four events when leading after 54 holes.

His best finish in a major was tied 7th at the US PGA in 2014 - he hit a six-under 65 that day. Reckon he'd settle for another one today?

  10. Walker gets goingpublished at 20:18

Stenson with a great save at the first, stays nine under. Day in the rough stuff, only able to squirt it back onto the fairway. Grace at 11, middle of the fairway again, safely on in two. Jimmy Walker on tee at one, bombs away... Robert Streb, however, finds sand...

  11. Day awaypublished at 20:11

Grace with an eight-footer for birdie at 10... always left. Stenson leaves his approach short at the first, here's Day going at it with driver... Day, psyching himself up like he's just about to hear the first bell go, finally takes aim and sprays his ball right and into the rough...

  12. McGirt makes haypublished at 20:03

McGirt birdies four, is now tied for third on nine under. Iffy chip by Spieth, he's got a job making par from there. Jason Day gets a big up at the first, he'll be off in a minute.

  13. Stenson awaypublished at 19:59

Spieth has tugged his second at the third, come up shot of the green. Stenson with three wood at the first, perfect. Up ahead, Koepka almost holes a bunker escape, should make par to stay nine under.

  14. Stenson primedpublished at 19:56

Stenson of Sweden and Kaymer of Germany make their way to the first tee. Can Stenson repeat his final-round feats from Troon? Grace out in 31, and that's the tough stretch...

  15. Magnificent McGirtpublished at 19:51

What an approach from McGirt at three, bending it round the trees and landing it pin high. Eagle chance. McGirt won at Memorial this year, his first PGA Tour win. Matsuyama, bidding to become the first Japanese man to win a major, with a peach of a pitch at the first.

  16. Postpublished at 19:45

Par for Grace at eight, he stays two off the lead. Hatton of England pars the 12th, stays five under. Spieth for birdie at the second, from about 25 feet... comes up short again...

  17. Rain but no thunderpublished at 19:40

Here's Kevin Kisner putting for eagle on 18... didn't hit it, at least not hard enough. The rain has slowed the greens up, which might take some adjusting to. Kisner in with a 70 for five under. Grace coming up well short at eight, and he gave that a clatter. Lobbing it down now...

  18. Hatton getting punchypublished at 19:36

Shot gone for Scott at the fourth, he drops back to five under. England's Tyrell Hatton is top Brit at the moment, he's five under after a tap-in birdie at 11.

  20. It's rainingpublished at 19:26

Spieth is playing with Japan's Yuta Ikeda, who sprays his tee shot right at the first. Spieth, however, finds the right-hand side of the fairway. Adam Scott gets to six under with his second successive birdie at three, and what an approach that is from Branden Grace at seven, should be nine under. Monster, 50-footer from Scotland's Russell Knox at 15, rain coming down again...
