  1. How long?published at 21:48 British Summer Time 30 September 2016

It's taken Justin Rose, Jordan Spieth, Henrik Stenson and Patrick Reed three hours and 17 minutes to play 11 holes. Is this acceptable, even at a Ryder Cup? What do you think? Tell us on #bbcrydercup.

    D Johnson/Kuchar v McIlroy/Pieters 4UP (9)

Here's Pieters with a birdie attempt at nine and it's a total misread. Dustin misses his birdie attempt, too, and Europe have two par putts to halve the hole.

    Jordan SpiethImage source, Getty Images

Jordan Spieth, 23 years of age with the complexion of a 13-year-old, gorgeous chip to within three feet for birdie on 11. It's a hole where birdie is a must, both Justin Rose and Henrik Stenson are close in, also seeking fours. This hole will be halved will it? Yes. Spieth and Rose register scores.

  4. 'Europe coming back'published at 21:47 British Summer Time 30 September 2016

    United States 4-0 Europe

    Andrew Magee
American PGA Tour winner on BBC Radio 5 live

I'm going to go ahead and call my mates and tell them to open happy hour one hour earlier, as we're going to be done. Team Europe is coming back - just what Davis Love was hoping wouldn't happen.

This by all accounts looks like a 5-3 final day.

  5. 'Europe having no mercy'published at 21:44 British Summer Time 30 September 2016

    Holmes/Moore v Garcia/Cabrera-Bello 4UP (11)

Emma Cabrera-Bello on BBC Radio 5 live: "I think mentally for the Americans that hole was really important. That was a massive birdie shot and for the Europeans to go back and make the putt, Sergio was brilliant.

"This team is having no mercy on the Americans right now, I think we have the upper hand mentally."

  7. Say what?published at 21:39 British Summer Time 30 September 2016

    Holmes/Moore v Garcia/Cabrera-Bello 4UP (11)

Sergio Garcia cups his ear on the 10th green. He's asking the fans what all the fuss is about as his birdie cancels out that of Ryan Moore. Europe retain their four hole lead and that was a lovely read by Garcia. He judged the break beautifully.

    3UP Snedeker/Koepka v Kaymer/Willett (9)

Koepka, who hits the ball like Popeye after a can or two, is safely on in two at nine. But Willett of England has made a monster disappear, Koepka misses with his birdie attempt and Europe cut the lead to three around the turn..

    Spieth/Reed v Stenson/Rose 2UP (10)

"Ah man," says Jordan Spieth as his skinny frame swings through a fairway wood on this par-five 11th. All four men are seeking the green in two, none of them make it but no one is in serious trouble as this drag is quite forgiving. Patrick Reed wins the prize for most absurd effort of the four, clunking a wood through the rough and finding spectators near the green. What was he thinking?

  10. 'Atmosphere still bubbling'published at 21:34 British Summer Time 30 September 2016

    United States 4-0 Europe

    Tom Fordyce
    Chief sports writer in Minnesota

Delightfully warm now out on the course, a contrast to the morning's misty chills, but the atmosphere has been bubbling all along - a shout of "Miss it!" from the galleries as Stenson putts on the 10th, cheers as Rose too just fails to make his birdie.

  11. Celebrity fanpublished at 21:33 British Summer Time 30 September 2016

If you missed this, Johnson was plucked from the galleries by Justin Rose and won a $100 bill by sinking a putt. You can watch the moment by clicking here.

    Holmes/Moore v Garcia/Cabrera-Bello 4UP (9)

Wondering how far back the Garcias and Cabrera-Bellos go? The answer is way, way back...

Rafa's sister Emma tells BBC Radio 5 live the story: "They both represented Spain at the Olympics, which was an amazing experience and a team building experience for them.

"But they have known each other for a long time. Sergio's mum actually marshaled for Rafa at the Spanish under-7s in 1991!

"She came over to us at the end of the tournament and said ‘he is just like my son – they are going to be superstars’."

McIlroy went over the back at eight but that's a dainty recovery, which he should convert into a par. Pieters very nearly holes his birdie putt, but Kuchar also misses his and Europe stay four up.

Niall Horan, from One Direction, is soaking up the action at Hazeltine, and has been speaking to BBC Radio 5 live: "The crowd are absolutely mad, I've never witnessed anything like it in my life. Even when we played in the celebrity game on Tuesday it was nuts.

"There was about 2,000 people watching me from the grandstand but the crowd are a little bit more relaxed at home. We played with Bill Murray, so it was like the Bill Murray show!

"This course is unbelievable, it's set up really well. It's a great course and I'm very privileged to have been able to play it a couple of days before the actual tournament."

  16. Wasteful Europepublished at 21:24 British Summer Time 30 September 2016

    Spieth/Reed v Stenson/Rose 2UP (10)

This is like a clear blue wave sweeping the scoreboard.

Jordan Spieth can't make birdie on 10. Not enough zing on it, the ball stops short. Justin Rose and Henrik Stenson will now try. If either make it it's a three-hole lead. It comes down to the Swede, the Open champion. Can he do what Rose couldn't and convert? No.

    What a waste.

  17. 'Greens breaking everywhere'published at 21:21 British Summer Time 30 September 2016

    4UP Snedeker/Koepka v Kaymer/Willett (8)

    Fred Funk
Former US Ryder Cup player on BBC Radio 5 live

The greens at Hazeltine are pretty large and have subtle breaks. They break a little bit everywhere, so there really are no straight putts.

If you get a hot player like Koepka, he is going to birdie putt every hole - he's four under himself.

    4UP Snedeker/Koepka v Kaymer/Willett (8)

Koepka and Snedeker are giving Kaymer and Willett a real kicking, rookie Koepka has made four birdies so far - including this one at eight, from about 10 feet - and the European pair just haven't had any answers.

  19. Europe up - Super Sergiopublished at 21:19 British Summer Time 30 September 2016

    Holmes/Moore v Garcia/Cabrera-Bello 4UP (9)

There is always a Sergio Garcia moment, he just suits this environment doesn't he, a fist pumper of a man. He fluffs a chip from the fringe with expert precision and after pitching it sets about rolling into the cup. What a shot. What a hole to win. JB Holmes and Ryan Moore have no answer.

  20. European controlpublished at 21:17 British Summer Time 30 September 2016

    Spieth/Reed v Stenson/Rose 2UP (9)

To play 36 holes in a day is no easy feat. It's not common at least. Are we seeing Patrick Reed run out of steam. He follows a wayward tee shot with a pure chip into sand. It's all on Jordan Spieth. On a downhill stance he's got around 150 yards in.  It's solid if unspectacular to leave a long putt.

The wind is blowing a touch on this hole. Henrik Stenson from the sand... now that is spectacular to leave 10ft. What a round he's having and this could be three up.

What have you got Justin Rose? He found 354 yards off the tee, his chip is controlled, he will have 14ft for birdie. Europe's hole again surely?
