    3UP Snedeker/Koepka v Kaymer/Willett (6)

Koepka with a fine approach out of the rough at the par-five sixth, that was a peach. Snedeker rolls another one in from distance, and that increases the American's lead over Willett and Kaymer. The Europeans need to make something - a chip in, a monster putt, anything - to kickstart their challenge.

    Spieth/Reed v Stenson/Rose 2UP

So, with Henrik Stenson in the cup for two, can Patrick Reed sink a long putt from the fringe. What an effort this is, it's on line you know, he's got it has he... oooh. It stops on the lip. Tough luck.

Jordan Spieth, all on you. He's in shade, the cup is in sunlight, a huge gallery looks on from the bank around the green. The masses suck the ball closer and closer, it again stops on the lip. The momentum is turning perhaps. Those were dropping this morning.

Stephen Foster: Ulleskelf in under 8's Cup Final - 6-0 down at half time and 9-9 at full time. Won on penalties.

Daragh Kennedy: I was 6 up with 7 to play & lost it on the 18th. Great game this golf.

  4. 'Impressive from Koepka'published at 20:42 British Summer Time 30 September 2016

    2UP Snedeker/Koepka v Kaymer/Willett (5)

    Fred Funk
Former US Ryder Cup player on BBC Radio 5 live

This hole is 640+ yards into the wind and with the soft conditions, the guys can control where it is going to stop. They can fire right at it.

What is impressive is how far Koepka is hitting it. He reached the other par five in two. You look at Kaymer's build and Kopeka's build. Even Sneds looks good these days.

  5. What a shot!published at 20:41 British Summer Time 30 September 2016

    Spieth/Reed v Stenson/Rose 1UP (7)

HOLE IN ONE...NO. Henrik Stenson, what are you doing to us? What a shot on the eighth. He just took 191 yards by the scruff and shook it. That ball was an inch from the cup as it rolled past and he could walk up to that ball and blow it in.

Patrick Reed or Jordan Spieth will need a birdie to halve this hole.#

Reed is off the green. Spieth floats one, he wants the wind and it doesn't come, leaving him 25ft right of the pin. "Where's that right-to-left Michael?" he says to caddie Michael Greller.

    D Johnson/Kuchar v McIlroy/Pieters 2UP (5)

Kuchar for birdie five and all of a sudden the Americans have started missing. McIlroy was taking notes, he's got to follow him down a similar path... in it goes from six feet, Pieters chases his partner off the green and pounds his shoulders. Europe stirring.

The beauty of matchplay is they can attack holes like this. If it wasn't they would have to be more defensive. We are involved in a great match here.

    Spieth/Reed v Stenson/Rose 1UP (7)

"GO, GO, GO, GO," bellows one American fan as a Patrick Reed birdie putt comes up short. Over to Jordan Spieth, from the fringe... it's in... NO. A lip out.

Wobble, wobble, the US are suddenly looking vulnerable. Now, can Henrik Stenson make it count? You bet. A solid birdie putt and even though Justin Rose found water, Europe take the hole.

Apologies, my computer stopped working. The good news is that while I was away, McIlroy and Pieters won the fourth to go one up in the bottom match.

    Rafael Cabrera-Bello (Europe)

This guy is loving Ryder Cup life, another birdie converted from 10ft or so. What's all the fuss about being a rookie?

    Holmes/Moore v Garcia/Cabrera-Bello 3UP (6)

Europe go three up on the sixth, Rafa Cabrera-Bello's 10ft putt drops, JB Holmes can't follow suit from the same distance. Are this Spanish pairing summoning the spirit of Ballesteros and Olazabal?

    2UP Snedeker/Koepka v Kaymer/Willett (5)

Kaymer putting at the fifth and he just misses on the left from long range. Willett's birdie attempt lips out and Snedeker jabs in his par putt to remain two up.

    A/S Spieth/Reed v Stenson/Rose (6)

To a monumental roar, Justin Rose clears the seventh green, into the bushes and probable water. Talk about heaping the pressure on your pal, it's a good job Henrik Stenson is on right now. He fires to within eight feet, that's inside the balls of the two Americans.

Pull up a chair Justin, you're not needed for a while.

It's raining balls on the sixth green. JB Holmes, Rafa Cabrera-Bello and Sergio Garcia pumping their shots in the mixer there. Europe have a good grip on this hole.

Jon Young: I once halved the match by holing my 2nd shot on the 18th... from 200 yards with a 3 wood!

Graham Humphrys: Spurs 3 City 4. FA Cup.

Ese Agboaye: Its got to be Medinah 2012 without a shadow of doubt!

Some great comebacks there. We'd also love to hear more of your personal sporting heroics... #bbcrydercup

  19. Hazeltine - hole-by-holepublished at 20:22 British Summer Time 30 September 2016

    A/S Spieth/Reed v Stenson/Rose (6)

A host of balls in the fairway on seven, no one finding the drink. A birdie will be needed here to win the hole. Jordan Spieth's was beautifully shaped.

    Hole: 7

    Yards: 402

    Par: 4

Curled around, and with a drive over, Hazeltine Lake, the hole also has a creek left of the fairway and right rough with a narrow elevated green that will be hard to hold.
