They played fantastic, both of them. They complemented each other all day. It was a good match and then they started to birdie every hole.
It was fantastic play by both teams, but Stenson in particular was my man of the match.
Rose/Stenson beat Spieth/ Reed 5&4
On the 14th green Patrick Reed leaves no stone unturned as he commits to his putt but pushes it. That means both Justin Rose and Henrik Stenson will end this match if they make either of their putts.
Stenson has run the show but misses. Rose will feel a whole heap better if he can strike the telling blow, he's been off colour a touch. He wipes his putter head, places it, takes grip and sends the ball into the cup. Excellent put and a truly excellent display from the pair as a collective.
Europe on the board.
Spieth/Reed v Stenson/Rose 4UP (13)
Justin Rose and Henrik Stenson smell blood. Stenson fires an iron to within 20ft, Rose to within 12ft. Patrick Reed is in good shape too but surely, surely, this one is done as they walk to the 14th green.
D Johnson/Kuchar v McIlroy/Pieters 3UP (11)
McIlroy makes his six-footer for par at 11, meaning Dustin has a short one to reduce Europe's lead to three holes with seven to play.
United States 4-0 Europe

The Europeans are doing exactly what they needed to do and wanted to do after being down 4-0. If they go in at 5-3, that is a huge victory in itself.
United States v Europe
Sometimes in sport you look back on an event and think it was just meant to be. The 'Miracle at Medinah' fits nicely into that bracket.
Trailing 10-6 at the start of the 12 final day singles matches, Europe won eight and halved another to win. Ian Poulter won four matches from four, Justin Rose was putting balls from the clouds, it all just seemed to click.
Europe's win perhaps sums up America's recent history in the Ryder Cup. Even when it looked like it was their day in the sun, it simply wasn't to be.
D Johnson/Kuchar v McIlroy/Pieters 4UP (11)
Kuchar just misses with a monster effort at 11 before it transpires that Pieters' caddie has forgotten his paymaster's putter and has to go an fetch it. Pieters misses out on his par, that hole still in the balance...
Holmes/Moore v Garcia/Cabrera-Bello 4UP (12)
"GET IN THE WATER," shouts an American. Sergio Garcia will not give that man his wish as he plays safe, away from the pin from the tee on this par three.
Spieth/Reed v Stenson/Rose 4UP (13)
The three wood which practically won Henrik Stenson the Open Championship this summer is continuing to sing a sweet, sweet tune. He hits the fairway as Jordan Spieth finds the edge of the bunker and he will have to stand in the sand for that one. Yuck, an ugly stance needed. Patrick Reed loves Jordan so much he's gone for a bunker too.
The fat lady warming her vocal chords.
D Johnson/Kuchar v McIlroy/Pieters 4UP (11)
Over on the par-five 11th, here's McIlroy putting for birdie and he races it quite a way by. Chance for the Americans to snatch a hole back but there's no getting away from the fact it's been a bit of a flat day, lots of one-sided matches and therefore not a great deal of high drama.
Holmes/Moore v Garcia/Cabrera-Bello 4UP (12)
And for the first time, we hear a clear "ole, ole, ole, ole," from the European fans. It's hardly ear popping but there's no noise drowning it out now. Sergio Garcia continues to putt well, curling home a 10 footer on 12. Hole halved.
United States 4-0 Europe

A transformation on the scoreboard and a transformation in the mood around this course. What was a wild 18-hole American party this morning has been silenced so effectively it's as if the Minnesota state troopers have shut it down. Punters pouring off the course, the yells and whoops of earlier replaced by sighs and whispers.
Spieth/Reed v Stenson/Rose 4UP (13)
Henrik Stenson steps up to roll in for birdie on the par-three 13th. Jordan Spieth will almost certainly do the same, he's a putting machine after all. He glares down the line of his ball, walks up, waggles into stance, draws the putter head back and MISSES. He turns his head away and nervously touches his nose. The US are four down. What a change in atmosphere. Feel that silence folks, feel that silence.

The Europeans really haven't given them a chance. The Americans are playing great golf but it is just one birdie on top of the other - it almost brings back memories from the Open this summer.
That 4-0 foursomes mauling earlier in the day is fast becoming a distant memory with Europe looking well set to win three of the afternoon fourballs.
If you do want to watch highlights of that carnage though, you know what to do...

Jeremy Bassett: If Team Europe go in 5-3, they'll feel better than the Americans. Stenson is smashing it up out there. 3UP / 6 to play. One more won hole should do that.

You have to concentrate on your own play. The Americans have no choice now and have to throw caution to the wind. At the moment Europe look great.
