    A/S Mickelson v Garcia (13)

Mickelson swings in a beautiful approach at the 14th from a bunker, Garcia with it all to do. Here he is, from the rough, and he's just outside him. I know who I'd back in a putt-off...

    1UP Reed v McIlroy (17)

The 18th is where the drama is for now. Both Rory McIlroy and Patrick Reed are in the fairway. Remember, the American only needs to share this hole and he'd win by one.

Reed angles his ball into the green, he twirls the club, he likes this so much we may as well move on... gorgeous. Just 10ft remain. Rory McIlroy has to stick this close to exert pressure. Not bad, it's a few feet further back. We have a shootout at the last.

    3UP Koepka v Willett (10)

It has been a week to forget for Danny Willett who has just gone three down against Brooks Koepka at the 10th. Things getting away from Europe here.

    A/S Z Johnson v Fitzpatrick (8)

The bottom match has gone all square, rookie Fitzpatrick showing his mettle with a fine birdie putt at the par-three eighth before swiveling on the balls of his feet and marching straight off. Zach Johnson must have wondered what all the fuss was about when he went two-up after four.

    Spieth lost to Stenson 3&2

    Fred Funk
Former US Ryder Cup player on BBC Radio 5 live

It was really funny because Spieth was taking his shoes off and his socks off and rolling up his pants, and then he just had to pick his ball up

Stenson was unbeatable today, he played exactly like he did in The Open when he won that.

    Spieth lost to Stenson 3&2

Spieth has rolled up his trousers and pulled his shoes and socks off and now we have a long chat with the rules official, because his ball moved when he put his foot in the water. Eventually it's decided that's a one-shot penalty and Spieth promptly sticks out his hand and concedes. Europe's first singles point.

    Walker v Cabrera-Bello 2UP (13)

    Carin Koch
Last year's European Solheim Cup captain on BBC Radio 5 live

These two players are playing fabulous golf, both of them. It's lovely to watch and they look so pumped up. So confident.

    A/S Mickelson v Garcia (12)

What a bunker escape that is from Garcia at 13, what rounds he and Mickelson have put together today...

  11. 'Henrik remains focused'published at 20:50 British Summer Time 2 October 2016

    Spieth v Stenson 2UP (16)

    Fred Funk
Former US Ryder Cup player on BBC Radio 5 live

Henrik has never been flustered all day. No matter whether he hit a bad shot or made a bad putt. He has been so focused all day.

  12. Europe up - Rory alivepublished at 20:49 British Summer Time 2 October 2016

    1UP Reed v McIlroy (17)

A glimmer of hope for Rory McIlroy as Patrick Reed catches a hot lie on 17. This par three offers a tricky green and Reed rolls through it with a chip from the fringe. He gets up and down for bogey, leaving Rory McIlroy with a putt to stay in the match.

Rattle, rattle, rattle go his knees. It's five feet, downhill, tricky, she's a beauty though. Rory needs to win the last to halve.

    Spieth v Stenson 2UP (15)

Spieth playing into the 16th, having a cut with his three wood, and he's found the drink. Didn't really have a choice, no point dying wondering. Stenson could finish it here and he probably has done, that's right into the heart of the green and a dagger into the heart of Spieth.

    2UP Reed v McIlroy (16)

    Andrew Magee
American PGA Tour winner on BBC Radio 5 live

The good thing for Rory it is on the same line as his putt so he is taking a very keen eye on Reed's putt.

He didn't wan to leave it there, though. He has left himself a slippery four-footer.

    2UP D Johnson v Wood (10)

.Graphic showing Ryder cup win came in 2008 for USImage source, ..

The top half of matches in the draw are going Europe's way, the bottom half are all red pretty much though and Dustin Johnson extends his lead. His putt of 12-15ft rolls in effortlessly and he raises the right arm, elbow at right angle. It's always the same half-baked celebration from a man who looks to live his life in a spaced out haze.

    Holmes v Pieters 2UP (14)

"Good ball," says an American voice, a rare compliment for a European player as Thomas Pieters sends a ball into the 15th green. It's solid, JB Holmes follows him in nicely but he needs something special from here.

    A/S Mickelson v Garcia (12)

Mickelson to win the 12th, from about 25 feet, and in it drops dead weight. He and Garcia have made 11 birdies between them today.

    Spieth v Stenson 2UP (15)

Stenson bends in his birdie putt at 15, meaning Spieth needs to bury his six-footer to stay alive... in it goes...

  20. USA up - Reed Dormie...published at 20:38 British Summer Time 2 October 2016

    2UP Reed v McIlroy (16)

Sublime from the sand from Patrick Reed. He skims under the ball, his feet move quickly in the sand so he can adopt a stance and watch his good work. A two footer left for birdie. Rory McIlroy has to hole a monster for the halve... it misses on the low side. Reed is two up, two to play. The McIlroy screams are echoing in the air from hours ago, there's nothing fresh.
