Garcia (-3 after two)
Better from Sergio, nailing a lengthy birdie putt at the second to move back level for his round and three under overall.
American Brian Harman leads on -12
England's Tommy Fleetwood bogeys last to finish -11
Justin Thomas breaks US Open record with nine-under-par 63 to reach -11
Jack Skelton and Luke Reddy
Garcia (-3 after two)
Better from Sergio, nailing a lengthy birdie putt at the second to move back level for his round and three under overall.
There has not been a British leader at the halfway stage of a US Open since Tony Jacklin in 1970. We've got two this year.
Jacklin went on to win in 1970, can either of Tommy Fleetwood or Paul Casey do the same?
They go off at 20:18 and 20:29 BST respectively.
Oosthuizen (-5 after 11)
The smiling assassin Louis Oosthuizen continues his surge up the leaderboard.
The South African is now just two shots off the lead, hitting yet another birdie at 11 to move to five under.
How low can he go?
Johnston (-3 after three)
One of those players to birdie the second is England's very own Andrew 'Beef' Johnston.
The big beardy lad hit back-to-back birdies to start his third round but just bogeyed the third to slightly halt his charge.
Garcia (-2 after one)
Sergio Garcia drops one at the first. Not an auspicious start for the Spaniard but plenty of others have made birdie at the second today so he may be able to recover soon.
Reed (-4 after nine)
Patrick Reed has been wearing the same colours all week. Red, white, blue. Can you guess his inspiration?
He just misses out on four straight birdies on the ninth but that's a cracking first nine from the American.
So as we're edging towards the leaders, here's a good time to share with you our esteemed BBC Radio 5 live commentary team's thoughts on the third round...

Z Johnson (-3)
So Zach Johnson does knock in that birdie chance at the last to finish with a round of 68 and reach three under.
He'll need plenty of the players ahead to slip back today but he's given himself an outside chance with that round.
Reed (-4 after eight)
Early indications are that we're in store for some low scoring today.
American Patrick Reed has just chipped in at eight for his third straight birdie and his fourth of the day, to go with a bogey at the fifth.
A quick fist pump, a high five with his caddie and on he goes.
Z Johnson (-2 after 17)
Ah, just as I said Zach Johnson was on the charge, he's dropped a shot at 17.
However, he's just belted his approach at the last to give himself a great birdie chance.
So if a tight leaderboard and British interest isn't enough intrigue for you, the weather could be a factor too.
During the last two days of sublime weather, those pre-tournament warnings of thunderstorms and rain showers must've have seemed ludicrous.
But it's time to heed those warnings, because there is a 50/50 chance of a 'violent thunderstorm' hitting the course today, according to BBC Weather's Phil Avery...
And if that wasn't enough, tomorrow's final round could well be affected by wind. The player who copes best with everything the elements throw at them will be a very worthy winner.
Z Johnson (-3 after 16)
So that top 18 - not a major winner between them - are already coming under pressure from the experienced names down the leaderboard.
As well as Oosthuizen's charge, two-time major winner Zach Johnson has just made his fifth birdie of the day to move to three under overall.
The American does have a blemish on his card with a bogey on 12, but a big finish here could put him well in contention.
Masters champion Sergio Garcia is just about to tee off - the Spaniard will start his round three under.
Here are the other key tee times to keep an eye on tonight...
19:45 (BST): Cameron Champ (a), Xander Schauffele
19:56: Si Woo Kim (Kor), JB Holmes
20:07: Rickie Fowler, Jamie Lovemark
20:18: Brooks Koepka, Tommy Fleetwood (Eng)
20:29: Brian Harman, Paul Casey (Eng)
Here's a full list of today's tee times.
Oosthuizen (-4 after nine)
A total of 23 pairings have gone off so far in round three and the biggest mover to keep an eye on is South Africa's Louis Oosthuizen.
The 2010 Open champion has just reached the turn four under for his round and therefore four under for the tournament - three shots off the leaders.
He birdied the first, fourth, seventh and eighth holes. Can his hot hand continue on the back nine?
So here's how it stands right at the top of the leaderboard...
(All US unless stated)
-7 P Casey (Eng), B Harman, T Fleetwood (Eng), B Koepka
-6 J Lovemark, R Fowler, JB Holmes
-5 S W Kim (Kor), X Schauffele, C Champ (a), B Snedeker, H Matsuyama (Jpn)
(a) Amateur
Day three. No big three. But plenty of intrigue.
A four-way tie at the top, with English duo Paul Casey and Tommy Fleetwood locked on seven under, alongside American pair Brooks Koepka and Brian Harman.
Loads of talent there but none of them have ever claimed a major. In fact, none of the top 18 players at the start of the round have won a major.
Who will wilt? Who will take a stride towards the biggest win of their career?
Could it be Rickie Fowler? He was imperious until the back nine yesterday but is still just one shot off the lead, looking for his first major.
Then there are major champions like Sergio Garcia, Martin Kaymer and Ernie Els ready to make a charge.
It promises to be a belting round, stay tuned.
