Darragh Culhane: Kim can become the second man from outside the U.S. under the age of 22 to win on the PGA Tour since WWII, Garcia is the other.

Andrew Priestley: Louis Oosthuizen is a man who knows how to compete at the business end of big tournaments, and win. Experience in this wind is key.

Vince Kenny: Poulter is a man who owes me nothing. But it's slightly annoying that I didn't put my usual £10 e/w this week on him. Ho hum.

  2. Holmes in no hurrypublished at 20:45 British Summer Time 14 May 2017

    Holmes -8 (4), Stanley -7 (5)

    No one rushes JB Holmes.

He's in a bit of barren rough behind the pin at five, looks like he's about to play it, but then delays and wanders over to the flag.

Practice swing, practice swing, practice swing... and then some. It's worth it, delicately edged to within four feet of the hole.

Playing partner Kyle Stanley has a birdie shot from the fringes, but he doesn't get enough on it.

  4. Poulter takes share of leadpublished at 20:40 British Summer Time 14 May 2017

    Poulter -8 (6), Oosthuizen -7 (5)

    There we go!

Ian Poulter drops in his birdie attempt from six feet to take a share of the lead. The skip was warranted.

Louis Oosthuizen meanwhile salvages par at the fifth, that'll be more than welcome for the South African after his double bogey.

  5. Poulter pleased with approachpublished at 20:37 British Summer Time 14 May 2017

    Poulter -7 (5)

Was that a little skip from Ian Poulter? I think so.

He pops one up on to the green from the fairway to offer up another birdie opportunity and celebrates with a Dick Van Dyke-esque kick of the legs.

How'd you like that, Mary Poppins?

  6. Kim takes share of the leadpublished at 20:35 British Summer Time 14 May 2017

    Kim -8 (5)

Ooooo, fantastic stuff from Kim Si-woo.

He'll be the new leader, with JB Holmes in the drink.

It could have been by two strokes after a birdie chip of the fringes does everything but drop.

So close for the young Korean, but an easy tap in for par.

  7. Holmes finds the waterpublished at 20:32 British Summer Time 14 May 2017

    Oosthuizen -7 (4), Holmes -8 (4)

Louis Oosthuizen finds the fairway down wind on the fifth.

Plenty to aim at, but he's not impressed. The South African hangs his head after pitching his approach too far right and seeing it slip off into the rough behind the green.

It could be worse, co-leader JB Holmes has just stuck his tee shot at the fifth into the water.

He shrugs, bites his lip and folds his arms. Not impressed.

So much can happen over the closing holes at Sawgrass - the diversity highlighted by the contrasting fortunes of Martin Kaymer and Hideki Matsuyama.

The German finished 7-3-7 while his Japanese rival covered the same stretch in 3-2-3 - a nine stroke difference.

  9. Stanley makes parpublished at 20:28 British Summer Time 14 May 2017

    Stanley -7 (4)

Kyle Stanley starts a putt so far right on the fourth it looks like it's heading for Miami, but that's wonderfully judged by the American.

There's some satisfying about watching it curl almost back on itself, like a boomerang towards the pin.

Will that steady his nerves after two early bogeys? It's down in par.

  10. Triple bogey at the 10th for Rosepublished at 20:26 British Summer Time 14 May 2017

Olympic champion Justin Rose is having a day to forget.

Starting the day on level par, the Englishman birdied the second hole.

So far, so good. But then he dropped three shots before the turn and then had a triple-bogey seven at the 10th after taking five shots to get on the green.

    He's now five over.

  11. Kim and Holmes share leadpublished at 20:25 British Summer Time 14 May 2017

    Kim -8 (4), Holmes -8 (3)

So that means the lead is currently shared by JB Holmes and Kim Si-Woo.

The 22-year-old is quietly and confidently going about his business after a birdie at the first, he's eight under.

  12. Double bogey for Oosthuizenpublished at 20:23 British Summer Time 14 May 2017

    Oosthuizen -7 (4)

Louis Oosthuizen has just dropped out of the lead.

The South African put his tee shot into the drink and it proves costly as he double bogeys.

It was damage limitation for Oosthuizen, who then misses a six-foot chance for bogey after eventually finding the green and cuts a frustrated figure.

  13. Too hard for Poulterpublished at 20:21 British Summer Time 14 May 2017

    Poulter -7 (4)

    Ian PoulterImage source, Reuters

"Just too hard," says Ian Poulter after his approach at the fifth kicks on and flirts with the slope, before settling in a favourable lie for the Englishman.

He managed to similarly avoid the sand off the tee, another shot that had it landed a foot to the right would have caused him problems.

  14. Holmes and Stanley recoverpublished at 20:19 British Summer Time 14 May 2017

    Holmes -8, Stanley -7 (4)

Kyle Stanley also dropped a shot at the third, which moves him back to seven under.

A couple of solid tee shots at the fifth from he and JB Holmes. They both needed to find the fairway after a tricky opening few holes and did just that.

  15. Kim rising to the challengepublished at 20:17 British Summer Time 14 May 2017

As a 15-year-old Kim Si-woo was inspired by the Players victory of his Korean compatriot KJ Choi. Kim is now 21 and already a winner on the PGA Tour.

He looks very comfortable on this leaderboard and despite his inexperience seems to be handling well the challenge of TPC Sawgrass.

  16. Poulter on parpublished at 20:16 British Summer Time 14 May 2017

    Poulter -7 (4)

    Ian PoulterImage source, Reuters

Talking of Ian Poulter, his birdie putts might not be dropping, but he is consistently making par and has just guided a beautifully-weighted long-ranger to set him up for a makeable par putt on the fourth.

It was a good recovery from Poulter after running into a little bit of trouble in the rough - that's a 32nd hole in a row without dropping a shot.

  17. Holmes bogeys, Oosthuizen in the waterpublished at 20:13 British Summer Time 14 May 2017

    Oosthuizen -9 (3), Holmes -8 (3)

JB Holmes' poor iron shot costs him at the third.

He makes it on to the green in two but that's not dropping. Bogey.

Meanwhile, co-leader Louis Oosthuizen is in trouble at the fourth - he's found the water!

This leaderboard is all over the place, up down, round and round. It could play into Ian Poulter's consistent hands.

  18. Rory and Jason chatter awaypublished at 20:10 British Summer Time 14 May 2017

    McIlroy -1 and Day +1 after 9

In other news, it may not concern those at the top of the leaderboard but spectators are being treated to the pairing of world number two Rory McIlroy and Australian world number three Jason Day.

McIlroy has been troubled with back problems over the last few days but seems to be having fun on the final round.

The duo are all smiles and chatting away like good chums as they complete their front nines with McIlroy level par for the day and Day two over.

  19. Stanley's chance?published at 20:09 British Summer Time 14 May 2017

    Stanley -8 (2)

    Kyle StanleyImage source, .

Kyle Stanley is making his fourth start at The Players, where has made three of four cuts.

His best finish came in 2013 (T33).

Stanley has held the 54-hole lead on one other occasion, by five strokes entering the final round of the 2012 Farmers Insurance Open.

He eventually lost in a playoff after he made a triple bogey on the final hole of regulation.

Should he go on to win, Stanley would be 29 years, five months, 25 days old. It would be his second victory in his 174th start on Tour.

  20. Stanley finds sand... againpublished at 20:07 British Summer Time 14 May 2017

    Holmes -9, Stanley -8 (2)

    Kyle StanleyImage source, Reuters

Kyle Stanley takes his seven iron on the par-three third, it goes right and then swings a long way left before nestling into the sand in the green-side bunker.

JB Holmes also goes left. It'll be race to save par, you'd think.
