    Day -9 (13) Cantlay -10 (11)

Patrick Cantlay, he has one PGA Tour win to his name. With all due respect, the Shriners Hospitals for Children Ope, externaln is not quite the Masters.

So can he find something big? On the 12th, a par three, he's safely on and has 20ft for birdie.

Jason Day hasn't found that extra gear but digs out a birdie on 13 after his eagle putt goes close.

    Molinari -13, Woods -12, Finau -11 (8)

Three must be a crowd on the ninth fairway. After Francesco Molinari and Tiger Woods find the middle, Tony Finau tugs his left into the trees.

Remarkably he has a shot and threads through the branches like he's sticking cotton into a needle. Only down side is he's hit the bunker.

Woods is on the green but a million miles from the flag, while Molinari is a bit closer. Not that you'd think it judging by his pained expression. The sort of face you pull when you find out they've ran out of your favourite ice cream.

    Cantlay -10 (11)

Who saw Patrick Cantlay coming after starting with two 73s? Probably not even him. But the American, after that sparkling 64 yesterday, is still on the shoulder of the leaders. He's knocked in another birdie on the 11th, leaving him four under for the day and a few off the lead.

    Koepka -11 (9)

Brooks Koepka in trouble off the tee on 10, deep in the trees it appears. This is tied first for the hardest hole on the course this week so it's not one to start badly on.

Out of all the players up at the top of the leaderboard, it's looking pretty stress-free for Brooks Koepka at the moment.

  7. Birdies for Molinari and Woodspublished at 16:41 British Summer Time 14 April 2019

    Molinari -13, Woods -12, Finau -11 (8)

Molinari is all aboard the top deck of the eighth green, leaving another one of those putts which he has been sinking all week. This one for birdie...

Tiger, off the back, has a television ladder just in his eye-line, no bother. He knocks on short, and then watches Frankie convert his birdie putt down the gullet with swallowing.

All yours Tiger... no danger. Not a flicker of emotion from Woods as he follows suit.

  8. Postpublished at 16:38 British Summer Time 14 April 2019

    Koepka -1, Poulter -10 (8)

Poulter has a snake of a birdie putt on the ninth... his ball slithering across the green before veering just off line. Good effort.

Brooks Koepka follows the Englishman... similar outcome. The American turns in 35, as does playing partner Poults.

If you've ever been for a golf lesson this is well worth a look.

Just look at that stance from Brooks Koepka....or is it Detroit police officer Alex Murphy from the film Robocop?

China's Haotong Li is five under for nine holes. He's played the back nine. Let that be a warning to you of the scoring which could be imminent...

    Molinari -12, Woods -11, Finau -10 (7)

Tiger sprays right into the trees, Molly is eating sand, only Finau walks off the tee with much credit.

When Woods arrives at his ball, he discovers there is no drama - apart from overhanging branch ahead. The American punches his ball green-wards, going over the top. Could be worse.

Molinari punches his bunker shot short, while Finau takes advantage of his drive by finding the green in two.

Only two pars on Xander Schauffele's card on the front nine, which concludes with birdie at nine. A lovely, controlled wedge in has back spin and leaves him two feet to mop up.

Get the mop out son. In it goes.

  16. Watch: 'Well done Ian, well done indeed!' - Poulter hits back-to-back birdiespublished at 16:24 British Summer Time 14 April 2019

    Poulter -10 (8) Koepka -11 (8)

Here's a video of Ian Poulter going back-to-back birdies.

In not so good news, he just three-putted on eight and leaves with par rather than what looked a birdie hole.

His playing partner Brooks Koepka going along in silence really and nets a birdie. Maybe the whole Tiger and Frankie show helps this American get his business done.

  17. Hole 8 - Yellow Jasminepublished at 16:24 British Summer Time 14 April 2019

    Par 5, 570 yards

Hole 8 - Yellow JasmineImage source, Getty Images

The second longest hole on the course with a second shot playing straight uphill to a narrow green.

So how do you approach this monster - generally a good whack up the right from a blind second shot leaves a chance to get up and down for birdie.

Easier said than done mind - although Paul Casey made it look pretty simple on his practice round!

  20. Bogey for Molinari, birdie for Woodspublished at 16:21 British Summer Time 14 April 2019

    Molinari -12, Woods -11, Finau -10 (7)

    Turns out he is human.

Francesco Molinari can't rack up the half century, skewing his par putt on the seventh to end his run of holes without a bogey on 49.

Not an easy one back for the leader... but he makes it.

Tiger taps in for a birdie, the galleries go a go-go. That trans-Atlantic ship heading to Italy has just slowed down...
