You knew that feeling when you completely misread the green and the ball goes completely off-piste? Yeah... Tony Finau is feeling that now.

The American's ball runs out of steam on the slope and, like someone carrying three shopping bags up the hill home, decides to turn around...

Tiger next... his birdie effort whistles past the post. Testy par putts for both Americans now...

A few struggle out there. It's got that Monday morning feel after you've been on a stag weekend to it. Brooks Koepka races one past the pin on six and has a nasty par putt to come.

Ian Poulter pounces on the nice bounce he had on six to convert birdie. Nice read with a touch of right-to-left break on it. Koepka, what have you got? Not enough. Misses his save and it's bogey.

News now though from the fifth green where our leaders are being asked a question or two...

Molinari has missed 15 greens this week apparently - and got down in two on them all. The Italian, rather surprisingly, deciding to lob one up from the fringe... and he's eight feet past.

  4. Eagle for Rahm!published at 15:40 British Summer Time 14 April 2019

    Poulter -8 (5) Rahm -8 (8)

Ian Poulter needs something to happen. Lofts his tee shot on six, par three, where will it land, bounces, kicks right, perfect.

John Rahm bullies the eighth hole by taking eagle. He clobbered his second shot to leave 12ft.

Is eight under too far back?

Bit thin on the ground where Frankie has ended up on the fifth... but he cleans it with the efficiency of a brand-new squeezy mop. Front edge of the green.

Woods... onto the green. But he's got 40 feet and a contour cutting through his line to contend with...

    Kuchar -7 (6)

A drop for Kooch on six. He tries putting up from below the green and he's inches from it getting through the fringe and releasing onto the putting surface. It sticks though and gives him too far to make par.

Xander Schauffele makes par when birdies are the order.

The fifth is a really formidable hole since they have added 40 yards to it. It's one of the biggest changes at the Masters.

Another, dogleg left with a fairly hefty carry of around 315 yards needed to skip the fairway bunkers.

Players unable to make that carry will be faced with a long iron into a green sloping from front to back.

    Fleetwood -5 (8) McIlroy -5 (1*) Koepka -11 (4)

Brooks Koepka gets a slice of fortune as a bounce off a tree leaves him a shot at the green on five. Meanwhile Rory McIlroy is four under for his round after another birdie on one, leaves him five under overall. Tommy Fleetwood with a super send into the ninth... the ball takes a slope and leaves a close-range birdie chance.

    Molinari -13, Woods -11, Finau -11 (4)

Tiger's done a U-turn and is back at the start line.

Woods pays the price for under-clubbing, hitting the right lip with his par putt.

The American mumbles something that, if we could lip-read, probably wouldn't be advisable to write for a family audience.

Finau and Molinari tap in to continue their par parties.

  18. Postpublished at 15:27 British Summer Time 14 April 2019

    Molinari -13, Woods -12, Finau -11 (3)

Woods assess his options and comes up with a chip and run... that doesn't run as much as he would like. Ten feet to save par...

Finau's uphill putt is just shy, Molinari follows suit. Both have putts which even mid-handicappers like us would be given gimmes.

    Schauffele -8 (5)

He started birdie-birdie but a couple of bogeys have Xander Schauffele back where he started. You can't really do that when it's Masters Sunday. On the fifth his second comes up short, and after a lengthy putt, sends his par effort to the cup, only for a lip out.
